Recently, a post appeared on social media saying that a woman in Tay Ninh province was lucky enough to win 12 lottery tickets worth 24 billion VND.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Tai (born in 1983, residing in Tay Ninh province), owner of Hung Tu lottery agency (Hoa Thanh town, Tay Ninh province), said that the woman in the article is Ms. Ha To Phuong Lan. Ms. Lan is Mr. Tai's younger sister, also the owner of Hung Tu lottery agency.

However, Mr. Tai said that his sister was not the owner of the 12 jackpot-winning lottery tickets as spread.

He said: "On August 16, a 60-year-old couple in Tay Ninh, who are well-off, bought 36 Vinh Long lottery tickets from a lottery dealer. That same afternoon, they discovered they won 12 special tickets worth 24 billion VND and 24 consolation tickets worth 50 million VND. After tax, the actual amount received was 21.6 billion VND and more than 1.1 billion VND respectively," said Mr. Tai.

After discovering their winnings, the couple did not redeem their tickets immediately but kept them at home. On August 17, they contacted Ms. Lan to redeem their prizes and asked her to deliver the cash to their home.

"Seeing customers get emotional when they win a large sum of money, we are also happy. Since the beginning of the year, we have exchanged the special prize for customers 42 times. Lan often posts pictures of the winning lottery tickets online, so people often misunderstand that she is the owner of those winning lottery tickets," Mr. Tai confided.

The lottery agent shared that his store has been in operation for more than 50 years. His family has also witnessed many customers winning lottery tickets. Mr. Tai said that recently, a lottery ticket seller who specializes in receiving tickets at his agency also won a jackpot worth 2 billion VND.

"Lottery ticket vendors usually leave one ticket aside to try their luck. Last Thursday, a lottery ticket vendor in extremely difficult circumstances won the prize. When I heard the news, I was happy for them," said Mr. Tai.
