Up to now, most customers who win Jackpot prizes of Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) have worn masks to ensure privacy and safety for their families. Each time Vietlott pays out prizes, it usually only announces the abbreviated name, place of residence and a masked image of the jackpot winner. However, there are still exceptions.
On April 8, at the Vietlott point of sale at 89/1 Bac Kan Street, Hoang Van Thu Ward (Thai Nguyen City), Vietlott organized the awarding of the Jackpot 2 prize in the Power 6/55 lottery worth more than 8 billion VND to Mr. D.VD in Thai Nguyen City.
Previously, in the Power 6/55 lottery drawing held on March 28, Vietlott's drawing council determined that there were 2 lottery tickets winning Jackpot 2, of which 1 ticket belonged to Mr. D.VD.
After deducting taxes as prescribed, Mr. D.VD received more than 7.2 billion VND in his account.
Mr. D.V.D said he is a retired soldier and is self-employed.
Sharing his plans for using the prize money, Mr. D. said he would share it with relatives, friends and do charity work, keeping only a portion for himself. For this reason, Mr. D.VD did not wear a mask while receiving the prize.
Previously, many customers won the billion-dollar Vietlott jackpot but did not wear masks when receiving the prize.
On October 3, 2023, Mr. Nguyen Hoai An, from Dong Nai, also did not wear a mask when receiving the Jackpot prize of more than 14 billion VND. He said that this was not a large amount of money for him. He did not wear a mask because he wanted to share the joy with everyone.
In October 2019, Mr. Le Van Hieu received the Mega 6/45 jackpot worth nearly 23 billion VND and did not reveal his identity. Sharing about his decision not to wear a mask, Mr. Hieu said he was "not worried that this would affect me."
In March 2018, Mr. HHĐ (permanent resident of An Giang) also did not wear a mask to receive the Jackpot prize of 18 billion VND. This customer said that he did not need to keep the information confidential, so he made his initials and portrait public.
In 2017, Vietlott organized the awarding of Jackpot Mega 6/45 in the 116th drawing in Ho Chi Minh City to 2 customers who won the prize. In this awarding ceremony, 1 of the 2 customers, Mr. Tran Nhat Khanh, did not want to keep his information confidential, so he did not wear a mask when receiving the prize.
Currently, Jackpot 1 in the Power 6/55 lottery has a cumulative value of up to 300 billion VND and is still looking for an owner. Meanwhile, Jackpot 2 has recently found consecutive winning lottery tickets. Over the past month, more than 141.5 billion VND of Jackpot 2 has found an owner.
The value of Vietlott's Jackpot 2 prize has recently increased and is much higher than previous draws when Jackpot 1 had not yet reached 300 billion VND due to the accumulation. Moreover, Jackpot 2 has a winning rate 6 times higher than Jackpot 1.
