The April 30 and May 1, 2025 holidays not only mark an important milestone for the Vietnamese people, but also a special occasion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

This is a major holiday with a series of special events taking place across the country. Along with that, the demand for telecommunications connections from millions of people and tourists has increased sharply, requiring network operators to deploy strong technical measures and infrastructure management to ensure service quality.

Up to now, representatives of major network operators such as Viettel, MobiFone and VNPT said they have carefully prepared solutions to ensure stable network operation, best serving people's communication needs during this important holiday.

Viettel deploys thousands of technical solutions

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification, Viettel has launched a large-scale campaign in the Southern region, where there are major celebrations and festivals, especially in Ho Chi Minh City.

With more than 1,800 technical solutions, including 945 solutions specifically for Ho Chi Minh City, Viettel has completed a workload 7 times higher than last year's holiday.

Special events such as the long parade, the display of 10,500 drones at Thu Thiem tunnel, fireworks at 28 locations in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces on the night of April 30, or the 20th United Nations Vesak ceremony taking place from April 27, 2025, expected to welcome 100,000 to 300,000 people each day, put great pressure on telecommunications infrastructure.

To ensure service, Viettel has deployed mobile BTS stations and kutkit vehicles in key areas, especially at parade sites, Thu Thiem tunnel, and important routes.

Advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and automated monitoring systems are used to predict network congestion situations early, automatically redirect and balance data loads in real time.

In addition, Viettel also deployed a three-tier response model, including on-site teams, network monitoring, and rapid response units at the scene. In areas with limited equipment movement such as parade areas, fixed teams are fully equipped with supplies and personnel, ready to handle incidents on-site. The long-term intensity of events, high user density, and constantly changing locations require Viettel's technical team to be flexible and adaptable like never before.

MobiFone is proactive with modern technology and network upgrades.

No less proactive, MobiFone has also implemented a thorough network protection plan to ensure uninterrupted service during the 50th anniversary of national reunification. MobiFone has focused on technical measures, especially enhancing network capacity nationwide to meet the connection needs of millions of people during the long holiday.

MobiFone has activated its network protection plan since mid-April 2025, with special attention to the southern region, where many important events take place. In Ho Chi Minh City in particular, the network has deployed mobile broadcasting in all key areas such as parades, parades, fireworks displays, and festivals. MobiFone has also developed 5G stations at these locations to provide high-speed connection experiences to users, while avoiding network congestion and technical problems.

At the same time, technical contacts from strategic partners have also been mobilized to coordinate and set up remote connection channels to provide quick support when needed. During the holidays, MobiFone will arrange full staff to handle and support customers, MobiFone's hotline 18001090 is always ready to answer and support customers promptly anytime, anywhere.

The network operator has also increased its information security monitoring force and reviewed all equipment, transmission systems and fiber optic lines. Response and incident handling plans have been standardized, ensuring that contact points are ready to coordinate closely.

In the key southern area where many important events took place on this occasion, MobiFone has deployed anti-congestion throughout Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, mobile broadcasting was carried out at all key locations, important areas such as parades, parades, fireworks displays, festival areas, etc. At the same time, additional 5G stations were organized to bring the best experience to customers, ensuring no incidents occurred. In neighboring provinces, anti-congestion work is also being actively promoted, expected to be 100% completed by April 25.

In addition, MobiFone has applied artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technology to monitor and optimize the network. These technologies help predict and resolve problems early, while improving the network's resilience when incidents occur.

VNPT deploys thousands of additional technical staff

VNPT Group is also not left out in ensuring the quality of telecommunications services during this important holiday. VNPT has deployed comprehensive network protection solutions, including adding field broadcasting stations and mobile broadcasting vehicles to event areas. The network operator pays special attention to improving mobile broadcasting capacity in Ho Chi Minh City, where major events take place.

Up to now, VNPT's network is ready to meet customer needs at 57 event venues and tourist areas expected to attract large crowds.

In Ho Chi Minh City alone, VNPT Group has improved mobile broadcasting capacity at 18 locations to ensure customer needs are met, and at the same time established a transmission line for VTV to broadcast live events within the framework of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

During these days, VNPT's technical team is urgently constructing fiber optic cables, installing and configuring equipment at television bridge points to serve VTV's live television programs and supporting transmission lines, installing Internet and wifi at the Press Center in Ho Chi Minh City to help press agencies promptly bring images of the parade rehearsal held on April 27 and the national parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day held on April 30 to the people of the whole country.

Ensuring communications and network security is the core mission of VNPT. Therefore, all of VNPT's communications systems have been built to ensure backup and have ready solutions for handling incidents. VNPT has arranged enough staff to handle and support customers during the holidays and 3,000 online technical staff are ready to handle any arising situations in addition to the 24/7 technical staff.

These measures not only demonstrate the commitment of network operators to protecting services but also contribute to building a modern telecommunications environment, ready to meet increasing connectivity needs in the future./.
