Not only was it a commercial success, Ants also won the readers' award of Science et Avenir magazine . Volume 2, The Day of the Ants, also received the grand prize of Elle magazine readers. A special thing about this book series is that Bernard Werber was inspired by the "father" Frank Herbert of the Dune series , whose film adaptation Dune: Part II is making waves recently, while studying law in Toulouse. With the mindset of a science journalist, combined with a literary soul, Bernard Werber has brought to the Ant trilogy a fascinating, thrilling plot and massive, coherent scientific knowledge with many layers of meaning. Not only that, this large-volume novel is also a synthesis of philosophy, spirituality, horror, mythology and consciousness... Through the long journey of 3 volumes, when closing the last pages of this book, besides the massive, unique and interesting knowledge, readers will also have moments to reflect on the profound philosophies of courage, heroism, creativity or existential meaning... That is also the characteristic in the writing that has brought Werber from an experienced science journalist to one of the most famous contemporary French writers today.
