Samsung Galaxy Ring smart ring may launch in July

According to a new report from ETNews, Samsung is gearing up to release its highly anticipated Galaxy Ring smart ring by the end of July this year. This shows that they are ready to revolutionize health monitoring through convenience, unique design, and expanded features.

In fact, this beautiful wearable device was originally announced as a surprise during the Galaxy S24 series launch at the Unpacked event in January. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the official introduction of the Galaxy Ring product line at the latest time. If everything goes as planned, the Galaxy Ring will be launched alongside the new foldable smartphone duo Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 at the same event.

The Galaxy Ring is rumored to include advanced features like blood flow measurement, electrocardiogram, along with the ability to control smart home devices and make contactless payments, making it an appealing alternative to bulky smartwatches.

The new report also says that the Galaxy Ring will come in eight different sizes to ensure comfort and a perfect fit for everyone. The ring is currently in the prototype stage, with mass production expected to begin in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung is betting on the ring’s convenient form factor and long-term wearability to disrupt the smart healthcare wearables market, tech experts say. “We believe the ring form factor is essential to complete digital healthcare, as it allows for long-term wear and more convenient use,” said Samsung Electronics President Noh Tae-moon. This philosophy seems to resonate with industry experts, who predict significant growth in the smart ring market, especially in the North America and Asia- Pacific regions.

While Finnish company Oura currently holds the lead with its Oura Ring, Samsung’s entry into the race could be poised to shake things up. Samsung’s new wearable launch is certainly interesting, as it’s entering a market with relatively few competitors, which could give Samsung a bigger lead over Apple and Google if it’s successful.
