On August 8, the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) and summarize the activities of the National Assembly Delegation (NAD) of the 15th term of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2021-2026.
In his speech, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh emphasized that the XV National Assembly Deputies of Ho Chi Minh City have together fulfilled their roles and duties as elected representatives, continuing to affirm the position and role of a National Assembly Delegation with a large number of National Assembly Deputies, making many proactive, positive and creative contributions to the activities of the National Assembly and the development process of Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the overall results of the National Assembly and the country.
With the very active contributions of the National Assembly Deputies of Ho Chi Minh City, the 15th National Assembly has focused on building and promulgating many important laws to promptly respond to developments in the world and our country to maintain growth rate, ensure social security...
Based on the Party's policy and the National Assembly's Resolution on merging provinces and cities, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that at the 9th session, the National Assembly passed Resolution No. 227, allowing Ho Chi Minh City after merging administrative units to continue implementing specific mechanisms and policies according to Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly.
“This is an important legal basis for Ho Chi Minh City to continue implementing specific mechanisms and policies with a larger geographical space than before,” the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that many policies were initiated from proposals and initiatives of Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, many important resolutions and policies related to the development of the city are being prepared for the National Assembly to consider and approve, creating momentum for regional and national development.
Ho Chi Minh City is always an important destination for monitoring, surveying, researching, conferences and seminars to form many new policies and guidelines of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
With its position as the economic, cultural, social, scientific, technological and diplomatic center of the country, the origin of many innovative and creative proposals, Ho Chi Minh City has always received the attention, expectations and great responsibilities of the Party and State, playing a leading role in the socio-economic development of the country.
From the requirements and tasks set by the Party and State, it requires a suitable and commensurate institution for Ho Chi Minh City to exploit and take advantage of all advantages, becoming a regional megacity and on par with the world.
“The National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee, according to their functions and tasks, will always accompany Ho Chi Minh City, always pay attention and create the most favorable conditions to remove bottlenecks, build a favorable institutional environment, suitable for the development stature of Ho Chi Minh City,” the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized.
Since July 1, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation has been merged from 3 National Assembly Delegations of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh City, representing more than 14 million compatriots and voters of Ho Chi Minh City.
With greater responsibilities and duties in a megacity assigned by the Party and State, the expectations and activities of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation in general and the National Assembly Deputies in particular will always be closely linked to the vibrant development rhythm with the requirements and demands for development at a new level.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation and delegates continue to contribute many profound and practical opinions at the 10th session of the National Assembly, focusing on contributing ideas to build draft laws and resolutions to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval with the highest quality.
At the same time, focus on innovating the work of people's petitions and supervision in the direction of promoting digital transformation, synchronization and efficiency; reviewing, urging and supervising functional agencies to resolve and respond to voters' opinions and recommendations sent by the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation.
Along with that, research and propose and recommend to the Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City government to report to the Government and the National Assembly to adjust the specific mechanisms and policies of Ho Chi Minh City according to Resolution No. 98 of the National Assembly in the new context, requirements and development space.
