Many leading international cancer experts gathered at K Hospital

Today (November 7), a delegation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) - Asia - Pacific Region visited and worked at K Hospital.

This is the first time the ASCO Regional Council has held a meeting in Vietnam, marking an important development in the cooperative relationship between K Hospital and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Over the years, K Hospital and the American Society of Clinical Oncology have established and maintained an extensive cooperative relationship in training, research and updating professional knowledge for the medical team.

Typically, the "Best of ASCO 2024" event held for the first time in Hanoi attracted thousands of domestic and foreign experts, affirming Vietnam's increasingly enhanced position on the regional and world cancer cooperation map.

This visit and working session is an opportunity for the two sides to exchange experiences, share visions and development orientations in cancer treatment, and affirm Vietnam's increasingly important role in the global cancer cooperation network.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Le Van Quang - Director of K Hospital, emphasized that international cooperation is always one of the key tasks to improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment. K Hospital appreciates the cooperative relationship with ASCO and wishes to continue to expand joint activities, bringing practical benefits to cancer patients in Vietnam.

ASCO representative, Prof. Dr. Eishi Baba - Kyushu University, Japan, Chairman of ASCO Asia-Pacific Council, shared: We are honored to host the Council meeting in Hanoi.

Professor Eishi Baba also expressed his sincere thanks to K Hospital for the warm welcome of the delegation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) – Asia – Pacific Region.

Also at the event, Ms. Morgan Dean - Director in charge of ASCO Regional Councils and International Members, expressed her emotion at the warmth and thoughtfulness of her Vietnamese colleagues.

"We expect to continue to accompany K Hospital in research programs, training and professional capacity development for the medical team," said Ms. Morgan Dean.

In the coming time, K Hospital and ASCO will continue to expand cooperation in training, research and academic exchange. The two sides agreed to maintain the "Best of ASCO" program in the following years, while implementing specialized training courses and promoting the connection of cancer expert networks in the region and internationally.

These collaborations demonstrate a shared commitment to enhancing cancer treatment capacity and improving the quality of life for patients in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region.
