Many supports when joining Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network

On the afternoon of May 6, at the Hanoi Museum, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports organized a meeting with creative cultural spaces in the city. The event aimed to officially call on creative cultural groups and organizations to register to become members of the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network, and at the same time introduce the activities of the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong affirmed the importance of Hanoi's creative cultural communities and spaces. After 5 years of joining the Creative Cities Network, Hanoi has made efforts to fulfill its commitments as a pioneer city in the field of creative design, promoting the heritage values ​​of the capital, contributing to affirming Hanoi's position, being known to international friends, contributing to building a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" capital.

Over the years, the creative community and creative spaces in Hanoi have made constant efforts to innovate and create, becoming bright spots in design, culture, art, handicrafts and creative startups. From the persistent activities and meaningful projects of the creative community, the formation of creative spaces has made the cultural appearance of Hanoi increasingly diverse.

“Creative spaces are truly ‘innovation nuclei’, contributing strongly to building the capital’s unique creative cultural identity, developing the creative economy and promoting the image of a youthful, dynamic, modern Hanoi that is still imbued with tradition,” said Ms. Bach Lien Huong.

At the meeting, Mr. Jonathan Baker, Chief Representative of UNESCO in Vietnam, said that Hanoi's call for participation in the City's Network of Cultural and Creative Spaces is "an important move to connect, recognize and support the diverse creative actors who shape the city's culture every day". The establishment of the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center will provide a solid institutional foundation to support learning, cooperation and policy dialogue for the creative community.

“We encourage all creative spaces, large and small, public and independent, to join this growing ecosystem. Your ideas, voices and cultural expressions are essential to shaping Hanoi’s creative future,” said Jonathan Baker.

In his speech, Director of Hanoi Museum Nguyen Tien Da provided more information about the activities of the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center (referred to as the Center), which is to support the connection of organizations and individuals operating in the field of creative design. In addition, the Center will coordinate and promote creative activities and innovation initiatives in many fields; prioritize making creativity an essential part of sustainable development; attract and connect creative resources and creative support resources of the city domestically and internationally...

At the event, the application for joining the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network was officially sent out and then announced on the Organizing Committee's media channels and satellite media channels. It is expected that at the end of June, the Network membership announcement and certification ceremony will take place in Hanoi.

Upon becoming an official member, members of the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network will be able to register to organize activities at the Center for Coordination of Creative Activities and the landscape area at the Hanoi Museum; enjoy preferential tax policies according to regulations; receive support in propagating and promoting the activities of the space on the official information channels of Hanoi - the creative city; receive guidance and support in procedures for granting event organization licenses and advertising licenses according to regulations.

Members will participate in activities of the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network, connect with activities of members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the region and internationally; enjoy connections, location support and support for organizing creative activities in pedestrian street spaces, cultural institutions, and appropriate historical and cultural relics.

Hanoi City will organize annual evaluation and reward for units, organizations and individuals who are members of the Network and have many contributions in the field of creative design. In case of outstanding achievements, they will be proposed for City-level rewards.
