Besides international blockbusters, Vietnamese animation this summer has left a clear mark with many new works, with familiar content, national colors and gentleeducational messages.
In Da Nang city, Le Do cinema organizes a special film screening session “Month of action for children and summer activities 2025” from June 1 to 15. Every week, the film is shown on Saturday morning (8:30 am) and Sunday afternoon (4 pm) completely free for children from 4 to 15 years old.

The selected Vietnamese cartoons all revolve around the themes of fairy tales, national history, family and friendship, and love for the homeland. This is a meaningful activity that aims to bring children not only entertainment but also the opportunity to approach traditional values through a lively and familiar form.
Summer 2025 also saw remarkable efforts from the Vietnamese animation industry with two outstanding works: “De Men: Adventure to the Swamp” and “Trang Quynh Nhi: The Legend of the Taurus”.
In particular, the film De Men is adapted from the novel “The Adventures of a Cricket” by To Hoai. The film follows De Men overcoming challenges to find a place where courage and friendship converge. The film not only retains the spirit of the original but also expands the character line, scenery and new details to suit the tastes of modern children.
With "Trang Quynh nhi: Legend of Kim Nguu", the film is scheduled to premiere on June 20, exploiting the image of Trang Quynh in the children's version, integrating detective, humorous and folk legend elements. The story takes children on a journey to discover the secret of Kim Nguu - the symbol of intelligence and courage.

In addition to Vietnamese animated films, the 2025 summer international film series also debuted, continuing to leave its mark with many big names. Among them, “Doraemon: Nobita and the Adventure into the Picture World ” is the highlight of the summer animated film series.
This is the 44th film in the Doraemon film series, continuing the journey of Nobita and his friends as they are drawn into the world of ancient paintings. The film is not only visually appealing and content-driven, but also a significant milestone on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, demonstrating the positive spread of Japanese culture through the symbol of the robot cat Doraemon, a familiar companion of many generations of Vietnamese children.

In particular, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Doraemon movie series, a series of activities for children have been taking place nationwide. The commemorative exhibition is being held at Vincom Landmark 81 (Ho Chi Minh City) and AEON Mall Long Bien (Hanoi) with giant Doraemon models, a memory tunnel with 44 shapes, a painting workshop, and an exhibition of 150 works drawn by young audiences.
At the same time, at nearly 20 shopping malls in many provinces and cities, children can participate in a series of mini games to receive gifts, take photos with life-sized Doraemon statues and experience art festivals associated with the film's painting theme. These events not only evoke childhood memories but also create an emotional summer for the whole family.

In addition to the Doraemon cartoon, “The Little Bears: The Adventures of the Four Directions” will also be released on June 6. This is a humorous and lively adventure of a group of adorable bear cubs on a journey to explore new lands. The film carries a message of cooperation, courage and perseverance - important values in educating young children.
With “How to Train Your Dragon” (released June 13), the film is an extension of the “How to Train Your Dragon” universe, a work full of adventure, beautiful effects and a touching relationship between humans and legendary creatures. This is a suitable choice for both children and family audiences who love fantasy stories.

“Elio: The Boy from Earth” (released June 13) is a new product from Pixar. The film revolves around Elio, a boy who is accidentally mistaken by aliens as a representative of Earth. Elio’s journey through space is a metaphor for the journey of growing up, facing differences and discovering oneself.
“Lilo & Stitch (live-action)” is a live-action version of the Disney classic. Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, an alien creature, continue to touch viewers’ hearts with their friendship that overcomes all prejudices.
The animated film “Despicable Me 4”, Minions 4 (released on July 5) marks the return of Gru and the mischievous Minions army, which will surely stir up the summer box office. The film is suitable for all ages, bringing laughter and a message about family affection.

With “Pigsy: New World War II,” a Taiwanese animation inspired by Journey to the West, but in a modern and humorous style, audiences are promised a fresh experience.
