Four female students from the Let's Vietnam team won the business idea competition thanks to their project to promote Vietnam tourism through a virtual reality game.
Recently, the Faculty of Japanese, Foreign Trade University organized the final round of the "Biz Contest 2023": Students with business ideas. This is the first business idea contest using Japanese for students in Vietnam.
In the final round of the above competition, the Let's Vietnam team won the championship with the idea of "Promoting Vietnam tourism through VR games". The team consisted of 4 girls: Nguyen Hien Phuong, Nguyen Pham Thuc Anh, Nguyen Minh Ngoc and Luu Huyen Trang - all students of K60 of Hanoi Foreign Trade University.
The idea came from "loving to play games"
Talking to PV Dan Tri , team member Hien Phuong said: "At first, when reading the suggestions about the field in the contest's topic, we immediately thought of promoting the image of Vietnam and associated it with the recent "Flight Safety Instructions" film of Vietnam Airlines, which is extremely unique and imbued with the identity of the Central Highlands, which made a great impression on me and I also wanted to have an idea that could promote the image of Vietnam in such an interesting way.
We simply thought that because the group quite likes playing games, so when we proposed the idea of "Promoting Vietnam's landscape and tourism through VR", everyone was also interested in this topic. Because we simply thought that if we like it, we will do it, so we were very surprised that we could go this far."
Hien Phuong added that the group was hesitant between many ideas when considering the factor of "participation of Japanese enterprises " in the topic.
The members all wanted to find something new, something that Japan had developed but was not yet popular in Vietnam, while still ensuring feasibility in the countless cultural differences between Vietnam and Japan. Along with the idea of promoting the image of Vietnam, the VR game option (virtual reality game - PV) was the option that the group considered the most suitable.
The project promises to provide participants with a "home-based tourism" experience.
Sharing more about the project, Minh Ngoc said: "Currently, VR technology is very developed and has been applied to modeling real landmarks or supporting tourism promotion projects in Vietnam and Japan. Therefore, to realize the group's project, we really hope to cooperate with technology companies that are researching and interested in applying VR technology to promote local tourism to build and develop game systems.
Our project promises to provide participants with a "home-based travel" experience. Through this, I hope that participants in our project can explore, experience, and interact directly through a system of challenges that both have elements of action and exploration and are associated with unique local cultural features, thereby arousing people's interest and excitement in Vietnamese culture, contributing to widely promoting the image of Vietnam like our slogan: "Bring Vietnam to your home".
It is known that during the project implementation, the group encountered many difficulties. Because the members did not have much experience and professional knowledge, plus the project was a technology project, it was very difficult to find reference information on the Internet.
"It took us a long time to build a business model and make a financial plan. Having to present and answer questions in Japanese in front of the business judges also made us very worried. But fortunately, our group practiced really hard and tried our best to give our best performance, even though it might not be perfect," member Minh Ngoc confided about the difficulties in implementing the project.
Before coming to this competition, the team members did not have much professional knowledge about business and finance, so this was a big challenge for the whole team. Coming to a serious competition with a rather vague idea because it seemed as simple as "like to do" has encountered many difficulties.
"During the feedback and comments from teachers, we all encountered difficult questions, even questions that we could not answer. However, through the competition, we received many comments and suggestions from Japanese businesses to complete the project in the best way. At the same time, through the seminars held, we also learned a lot from the speakers, which was the luggage that we prepared for the final round.
We also learned how to work as a team more effectively and harmoniously. Four members, four individuals, four pieces, although not perfect, tried our best to create the most harmonious whole, we also tried our best to bring the most complete performance in the final match," Huyen Trang shared more.
