(Chinhphu.vn) - The Vietnam Road Administration (Ministry of Construction) recommends that although the Ho Chi Minh road through Lo Xo pass has been cleared, the weather is still raining heavily, the soil and rocks on the slope are saturated with water, the risk of landslides and traffic congestion is still very high.

According to the report of Road Management Area III, after many days and nights of efforts to overcome the prolonged heavy rain, by the evening of October 30, Road Management Area III officially opened the entire Ho Chi Minh Highway through the Lo Xo Pass area ( Da Nang city and Quang Ngai province).

Open from 8:00 p.m. on October 30

Specifically, at 8:00 p.m. on October 30, 2025, one lane on Ho Chi Minh Road through Lo Xo Pass area to the North (towards Da Nang city) was officially opened, freeing hundreds of vehicles from 15 landslide locations causing traffic jams from Kham Duc commune to Thanh My commune (Km1392-Km1320) since October 26. Before that, at 5:10 p.m., one lane to the South (towards Dak Lak province) was opened.

Currently, the forces of Road Management Area III are still continuing to carry out landslide clearance work, ensuring traffic; arranging staff, workers, vehicles, and machinery to be on duty 24/7 at the scene. The working groups are ready to respond and promptly fix any new landslides, determined to maintain smooth and safe traffic on the Ho Chi Minh road through the Lo Xo pass area.

Drivers should choose QL19 or QL24

According to the leader of the Vietnam Road Administration, the weather in the Lo Xo Pass area is still rainy, the soil and rocks on the slope are full of water, the risk of landslides and traffic congestion is still very high.

To ensure safety, the Vietnam Road Administration recommends that vehicles traveling through the Lo Xo Pass area should be especially careful and comply with the instructions of authorities and the on-site warning system.

"Drivers can proactively choose National Highway 19 or National Highway 24 to connect the Central Highlands region with National Highway 1, to ensure a safe journey and limit the risk of landslides that may occur on Lo Xo Pass," said a leader of the Vietnam Road Administration.
