After experiencing pain and loss after the fierce flash flood, the lives of the people of Lang Nu village have gradually stabilized.
In recent days, Chairman of Phuc Khanh Commune People's Committee Dang Thanh Hoa has regularly visited Lang Nu village to meet and grasp the living situation of people in the temporary resettlement area.
According to Mr. Hoa, with the attention of superiors and philanthropists nationwide, the lives of the people here are now stable and have basically returned to normal. They are looking forward to the day the new resettlement area is completed so they can settle down and make a living.
Phase 1 of Lang Nu resettlement area started on September 21, covering an area of about 10 hectares. There will be 40 houses built with 2 floors and designed in the traditional stilt house style of the Tay people along with auxiliary works.
Along with that, the resettlement area will have a cultural house, school, and infrastructure works to ensure stable and long-term living for people.
Currently, there are more than 200 officers and soldiers along with 50 vehicles participating in the construction. To shorten the progress, the construction unit has prefabricated the components and transported them to the construction site to install into a complete stilt house frame.
Mr. Dang Van Manh, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board - Construction Investment of Bao Yen district, said that officers, soldiers and workers of Army Corps 12 worked in 3 shifts, day and night, to meet the set schedule.
According to Mr. Manh, the construction unit has completed the roofing of 3 houses. Roads, drainage, electricity and water supply projects are also being urgently implemented. The roofing of 40 houses is expected to be completed before December 2.
Recently, at the progress inspection of the project to rebuild the rural residential area of Lang Nu, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, said that the province is determined to revive Lang Nu, build it into a happy village and digitally transform it, gradually helping people stand up after storms and floods.
According to Mr. Truong, Lao Cai province will focus on three main goals to stabilize the lives of local people: Vocational training and job creation; restoring agricultural production, creating typical products of Lang Nu and exploiting the potential and strengths to turn Lang Nu into a tourist destination.
Warming gifts from Lang Nu village sent to the flood center of Le Thuy The first relief shipment from the people of Phuc Khanh commune (Bao Yen district, Lao Cai), including Lang Nu village, is preparing to depart, bringing necessities to the flood center of Le Thuy ( Quang Binh ).
