Nissan N7 2025 launched, "challenging" Toyota Camry and Honda Accord

The new Frontier Pro hybrid pickup truck is the highlight of Nissan’s booth at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. However, it’s not the only electrified vehicle Nissan will be showing at the event. The all-new Nissan N7 is also on display.

This is the model that was first revealed at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show held in November last year. The N7 is a model developed by Nissan with the Dongfeng joint venture in China.

As the commercial version of the Epoch concept car that was first introduced at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the Nissan N7 sedan belongs to the D-segment. The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,930 x 1,895 x 1,487 mm and a wheelbase of 2,915 mm.

In contrast to the square, powerful appearance of its Frontier sibling, the N7 has a design that focuses on aerodynamics to optimize operating range after charging the battery. With a drag coefficient of only 0.208 Cd, the Nissan N7 has become one of the most aerodynamically designed commercial production vehicles today, second only to the Mercedes-Benz EQS (0.202 Cd).

Unfortunately, like the EQS, the pursuit of a sleek design has resulted in an extremely bland appearance for Nissan's new recruit. In addition, the Nissan N7 is also considered to look quite similar to its domestic rival, the Xpeng P7.

In the front of the car, the N7 is designed neatly and modernly with a horizontal LED daytime running light strip, reminiscent of Hyundai cars. Next to it is a cluster of LED headlights shaped like the number 7 inside and a glossy black border around the central air intake on the front bumper.

Going to the side, we will see hidden door handles, quite large windows and multi-spoke alloy wheels, 2-tone scratched. The body of this electric car model does not have many creases and cuts as usual to reduce the coefficient of air resistance. At the rear, the Nissan N7 is equipped with LED taillights connected on both sides and has a fairly thin design.

Similar to the front bumper, the rear bumper of the car also has a glossy black cover. Inside the car, the N7 has an interior space that does not cause any surprises. Following the current popular trend, the car is equipped with a 15.6-inch central touch screen with 2.5K resolution and a digital clock.

With a large infotainment screen, the Nissan N7 doesn't have many physical buttons, except for two on the steering wheel. The seating system promises to make the driver and passengers feel comfortable.

Nissan says the zero-gravity front seats feature an AI-powered posture adjustment system that uses data from 49 sensors and features a 12-point massage function. There’s also a mini fridge hidden under the armrest that can chill drinks to -6°C or heat them up to 55°C.

Similar to the interior and exterior design, the Nissan N7's powertrain is also not outstanding compared to other electric cars on the market. The car does not have modern 800V charging technology but only a 400V electrical system, accompanied by two battery options with a capacity of 58 kWh and 73 kWh. The power of the electric motor ranges from 215 - 268 horsepower.

Nissan says the larger battery pack will allow the car to travel 635 km on a single charge based on China's CLTC standard. At the moment, Nissan only plans to sell the N7 in the Chinese market. The price of the Nissan N7 has not been revealed yet.
