Officials in the city of Lviv near the Ukraine-Poland border say Russia carried out an air strike, leading to explosions that shook the area.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy said Russia carried out an airstrike early this morning, causing large explosions in the city and surrounding areas. Lviv's military said the Russian airstrike hit "essential infrastructure" in the city and caused fires, but no casualties were reported.

Also early this morning, Kiev authorities announced that air defense systems were repelling attacks by suicide drones, while the Ukrainian-appointed Zaporizhzhia city government said that Russia was targeting telecommunications and agricultural infrastructure.
Video shared on social media showed fires and secondary explosions in a Ukrainian-controlled area of Zaporizhzhia province, suspected to be an ammunition depot that was attacked.

The Russian Defense Ministry and the Ukrainian military have not commented on the information.
The city of Lviv, located in western Ukraine, about 60 km from the border with Poland, is an important staging point for Western weapons aid to Ukraine.
Russia is conducting continuous raids to prevent Ukraine's counter-offensive, as well as to deplete the enemy's anti-aircraft ammunition, as they have to constantly fire expensive shells to deal with cheap missiles and UAVs.
Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate Vadym Skibitsky said last month that Russia was focusing on attacking strongholds and ammunition depots to disrupt the counterattack, instead of trying to destroy energy infrastructure as before.
