In recent times, PC Quang Binh has implemented many synchronous and effective solutions to reduce grid incidents and prevent the risk of local grid overload. In addition, the company has stepped up its direction to its affiliated management and operation units to strengthen technical management, paying attention to distribution transformer stations (TSAs), overloaded (or fully loaded) lines and those at risk of being fully loaded in the 2024 dry season to have solutions to increase capacity and timely load sharing...

Director of Quang Ninh Electricity Nguyen Manh Hien shared: In the first 2 months of 2024 alone, the unit has carried out 14 tree clearing campaigns inside and outside the line corridor to reduce the rate of incidents caused by trees inside and outside the corridor. From the beginning of 2024 to now, the unit has also periodically inspected 161 public substations and 6 medium-voltage line outputs and their branches. In addition, the unit has cleaned 362/643 locations and 58/107 substations, the remaining volume will continue to be deployed in the coming time.

In general, the periodic inspection of power lines and substations is always carried out by Quang Ninh Power Company in accordance with the process. Thereby, the unit has detected defects and problems on the power grid and has timely solutions. On the other hand, the grid cleaning work is ensured at the right frequency, promptly correcting the causes of power loss, such as: Contact, contaminated insulation... In particular, the unit always focuses on the reasonable operation of low-voltage compensation capacitors, minimizing the phenomenon of over- and under-compensation on the power grid; planning and purchasing to immediately replace damaged equipment to ensure adequate operation of compensation capacitors; using thermal cameras to check all contacts on the power grid, handling immediately if any abnormalities are detected; performing hotline porcelain cleaning, prioritizing coastal areas, areas that are often contaminated...

Deputy Director of PC Quang Binh Vu Thanh Phong said: “In addition to the above solutions, the company also directed its affiliated Power Companies to organize cleaning and maintenance of power lines and substations, monitor contact status, especially at medium voltage lines with high load levels, supplying important loads. From there, deploy on-call organization, increase human resources to handle incidents. In particular, the grid hot repair team is assigned the task of arranging forces to support units promptly in case of incident handling or overcoming abnormal phenomena that may cause incidents, ensuring operations during incident handling must prioritize the operation of SCADA-connected devices, limit interruptions in power supply to customers while not causing overload, incidents spreading to other elements in the power system”.

Actively provide adequate and reliable electricity

At the end of 2023, PC Quang Binh provided electricity to the remaining two communes of Quang Binh province that did not have grid electricity (Tan Trach and Thuong Trach communes of Bo Trach district). Thus, up to now, 100% of communes and wards in Quang Binh province have had national grid electricity. According to the plan, in 2024, the total expected investment for the distribution grid and other works invested by PC Quang Binh is 208,702 billion VND. By the end of April 2024, PC Quang Binh had completed 25.99% of the plan, contributing to preventing local overload, creating reliable loops, meeting the criteria for supplying electricity N-1, N-2 to central and densely populated areas...

In addition to synchronously implementing many solutions to supply electricity for the dry season of 2024, PC Quang Binh also urged and coordinated with contractors and construction units to promptly complete projects to upgrade and prevent grid overload to provide adequate and reliable electricity. From the beginning of 2024, PC Quang Binh worked directly with each large industrial production customer to sign a memorandum of agreement to shift electricity loads to avoid peak hours from April to July 2024 (the number of customers who signed the memorandum of agreement is 34/34).

“In the coming time, PC Quang Binh will continue to improve the quality of load forecasting, work with large electricity customers to implement a reasonable load regulation program. At the same time, the company will promote propaganda and mobilization for all customers, including individuals, households, agencies and businesses, to use electricity economically and effectively, with the goal of saving at least 2.1% of total load electricity consumption in the management area,” said Mr. Vo Thanh Hai, Head of PC Business Department, Quang Binh.

At the same time, the company is working with production and service customers with electricity output of over 1 million kWh/year to agree to participate in the load adjustment (DR) program. The number of customers who have signed the addendum to participate in the DR program is 43, with a total adjusted capacity reduction of 22,265 kW...
