More efforts to achieve economic growth target

Assessment of the implementation of tasks in April shows that, with the drastic direction and flexible management of the Provincial People's Committee, the efforts of all levels, sectors, and localities, the province's socio -economic situation has achieved many outstanding results: Industrial production has a positive trend, the industrial production index in April increased compared to the previous month. State budget revenue as of May 15 reached over VND 8,039 billion, reaching 36.2% of the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister, reaching 34.1% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council. Disbursement of public investment capital as of May 15 reached over VND 2,340 billion, equal to approximately 42% of the plan assigned by the Government, equal to nearly 32% of the plan assigned by the province.

Regarding attracting domestic and non-budgetary investment, in April, the province issued investment policy decisions and approved investors for 11 projects, with a total registered capital of VND 2,696 billion; issued investment registration certificates for 2 projects, with a capital of VND 6,136 billion. Along with that, it attracted 2 FDI projects with a newly registered capital of 11 million USD; 1 project increased its capital by 1 million USD. The meeting also spent a lot of time listening to and discussing the financial and asset handling plan of the units after the arrangement and advising on the mechanism and policies to ensure working conditions for civil servants, public employees and workers coming to work at the provincial administrative center after the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces; Submission and draft Resolution stipulating the content and level of expenditure for students and teachers whose students won prizes in provincial-level exams and competitions at public and non-public educational institutions managed by the province; Submission to approve the adjustment of the Housing Development Program of Thai Nguyen province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2040 and a number of other important contents.

At the meeting, local leaders focused on reporting on budget collection results and progress of public investment disbursement. The sectors also advised on many solutions to improve the industrial production index, trade and services to achieve the growth scenario target for the second quarter of 2025 set by the Provincial People's Committee.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Dung emphasized that in the first 4 months of this year, the province's socio-economic development has achieved many positive results. He requested departments and branches to closely follow the tasks assigned at the beginning of the year and strive to complete them, in which the growth in the industrial sector must reach double digits; in particular, the trade and service sector in the second quarter must achieve growth of over double digits.

Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned targets to each project. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the leaders of project management boards and localities with low disbursement (such as Thai Nguyen City, Pho Yen City, Song Cong City, Phu Binh District) to speed up the implementation progress. He also requested units and localities to speed up the settlement of projects and works in the period of 2021-2025 before the end of district-level activities. Regarding the budget collection results in the first 6 months of the year, which are likely to exceed the set target, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that this is the province's effort, requesting localities to urge the implementation of low-performing revenue items to complete the assigned targets.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested all levels, sectors and localities to perform well the work of handling administrative procedures; effectively implement tasks on breakthroughs in science, technology and innovation; promptly organize to collect public opinions on the draft Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution. Regarding the contents related to the work of arranging administrative units and merging provinces, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the assigned departments and sectors to proactively develop plans for arranging working offices, public assets, means of transport, official housing, and detailed plans for arranging civil servants, public employees and workers in the government sector to advise the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee in charge, and report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee...
