The Quang Ngai Provincial Civil Defense Steering Committee is working with the National Civil Defense Steering Committee and the General Staff to direct functional units to mobilize helicopters for search and rescue operations, supporting local authorities to quickly approach and locate the victims.

Before that, at around 3pm on November 6, a 44-year-old man from Tay An Vinh village, due to a family dispute, went to Ly Son wharf area and jumped into the sea. Seeing this, two other men from the same locality used a basket boat to rescue him. However, due to strong waves and wind, all three were swept away and went missing.
