Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung was moved when singing a song about mother

Sharing about the latest musical work of musician Nguyen Thanh Trung, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung said: Perhaps we are all "old" people so our feelings and emotions for family are bigger and deeper. That's why we want to sing and write more songs about family, about parents. And in life, from childhood to adulthood, to old age, everyone always keeps and cherishes the image of mother. In the song of musician Nguyen Thanh Trung, the words written about mother are very rustic and simple but also bring the listener to tears".

Also because of his sympathy for the author of the song, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung carefully studied the song to perform the work in the best possible way. He invited musician Vu Manh Cuong to arrange the music in a semi-classical spirit and added the soft, soulful sound of the monochord to make the work both elegant and imbued with the soul of traditional Vietnamese culture.

With the song "I love my mother", musician Nguyen Thanh Trung also showed a change in his composition, when the musician brought folk colors into his song. Talking about his new work, musician Nguyen Thanh Trung shared: ““I love my mother” is in a series of songs I wrote about parents and family. The mother in the work has many images of my mother during the difficult years, devoted to her family and children. I once wrote in a poem about my mother: “The day I cycled home, my mother cried on the handlebars/ When I borrowed rice from my uncle, he called me and said it was just gone”. In the song, the image of my mother “Carrying on a shoulder pole morning and night/ Lighting an oil lamp to light up my childhood/ Teaching my children to love eggplant/ Loving a bowl of spinach soup/ Fighting to eat the head of a fish/ Regretting the burnt rice…”. Among the singers who have collaborated with Nguyen Thanh Trung such as People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung, singers Le Anh Dung, Quang Ha, Dong Hung, Mai Dieu Ly, To Ngoc Ha…, the musician chose Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung to perform the work “I love my mother” because of the harmony of soul and age.
