On the afternoon of April 2, on behalf of the school, Mr. Truong Dong Cuong - Secretary of the Party Committee of People's University of China, presented the decision to appoint Associate Professor Diep Tu Vi at the age of 30.

Professor Diep Tu Vi graduated with a PhD from the University of Michigan (USA), majoring in Agricultural Economics and Biology. Her research interests are mainly economic, environmental and policy issues related to biological breeding technology.

In 2022, after receiving her doctorate, she returned to China and joined Renmin University of China as an assistant professor. After nearly 3 years of working there, she recently received a decision to appoint her to the title of professor, through the school's strategic talent nomination system.

In academic research, Professor Diep Tu Vi always applies interdisciplinary research methods to solve agricultural policy problems. Over the past 3 years, she has not only published many articles on Biological Breeding Economics in Science Magazine , but also has research projects that have made breakthroughs in the field of Agricultural and Forestry Economic Management in China.

Not stopping there, Professor Diep Tu Vi continued to affirm his outstanding research capacity by chairing and participating in a series of National Natural Science Fund projects and provincial and ministerial level topics, with impressive results.

Deciding to return to contribute to the country right after completing his doctorate, Professor Diep Tu Vi said: "The characteristics of the Agricultural and Forestry Economic Management major are practicality and problem-solving orientation. In order for academic research results to be applied in practice, there must be a close connection with policies. Immersing myself in the flow of practical research and development in China will help me promptly grasp and solve the needs of the country, using my professional knowledge to contribute to moving the ship of social development forward."

The appointment of Professor Diep Tu Vi to a higher position after 3 years of working at Renmin University of China has caused quite a bit of controversy. Regarding this, sharing with People's Daily , the school representative said that the appointment of Professor Diep Tu Vi to a higher position was carried out in accordance with regulations, from the stage of convening the academic committee to the review and approval process.

Currently, in addition to teaching at the Institute of Agriculture and Rural Development of Renmin University of China, Professor Ye Ziwei also chairs the research project on the Impact and Benefits of Industrialization of Herbicide-Resistant Crops and Green Agriculture Development of the National Natural Science Foundation, 2024-2026 period.

In addition, she also participates in 2 other national projects (2024-2027 period): Research on the mechanism, effects and optimization path of land rectification (rectification, correction, renovation and planning) and Research on the impact and optimization of protective cultivation subsidies - Analysis based on the behavioral characteristics of producers.

The journey from the village to the capital of the male student 'who didn't know Mandarin' Ho Van Doi left his village and set foot in Hanoi for the first time in 2020. At that time, Doi could not speak Mandarin clearly and was afraid to interact with people because of his inferiority complex and language barrier.
