The first time she appeared on the show Love Station, Ms. Le Thi My Binh couldn't help but feel shy and a little timid. The program's "ice-breaking" questions immediately helped Ms. Binh regain her confidence and helped the audience gain more information about this 8X female artist.

The journey of overcoming adversity of the 8X disabled female artist from Yen Bai will be told in the program Love Station with the theme "Sunshine Smile", airing at 10am on Saturday, July 29 on VTV1 channel.

Le Thi My Binh was unlucky when she discovered at the age of 12 that she had a serious illness called transverse myelitis, which left her paralyzed in both legs. Since then, the 8X girl's life has been tied to the rotation of a wheelchair.

From an active and somewhat mischievous person, now having to sit in one place makes Binh feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. "At first, I tried to get used to it, but then I saw my friends going to school, while I was stuck in the four walls, then I thought about the future. All my dreams and ambitions seemed to collapse before my eyes," Binh shared.

That sadness grew as Binh got older, until one day, she thought she needed to do something, needed to do a job to earn money to support her life, to ease the burden on her mother's shoulders. "Because I sit in one place, I have a lot of free time. My father works as a painter for hire, when I was young, I often helped him cut out advertising signs, decorate weddings. At that time, I thought about painting", Binh confided.

By chance, while surfing social media, Ms. Binh saw that disabled people could still become artists, so she decided to pursue this career. Through the report of Tram Yeu Thuong , the audience had the opportunity to see Ms. Binh's painting workshop with a simple easel, a neatly arranged set of watercolors, and a set of computers, which are her great assets.

They help her pursue her passion and interact with the outside world . In the ground floor house, there are not many valuable items but are filled with paintings from when she started drawing.

The paintings tell of the joy, desire and even the "storms of the heart" of the disabled female artist. It is her passion for painting that has given her more motivation in life.

In 2013, invited by a friend to participate in an art exhibition in Hue , Ms. Binh decided to leave the bamboo village. For the first time, mother and daughter packed up and went to Hue. That was also the first time Ms. Binh met artists, learned about oil paints and different types of paints.

"I can't afford to buy a pen, so I use my fingers to draw. If I don't have many colors, I mix them to get the colors I want. Everything can be solved, depending on how I look at it," Binh confided.

The happiest thing is that Ms. Binh's paintings are not only well received by everyone, in 2018, 6 of her paintings were also sold the fastest at the Exhibition of paintings by people with disabilities . The paintings have helped people have a different view of this disabled woman.

Besides, Ms. Binh also does crocheting to earn extra income to cover her living expenses and nurture her dream of painting.

When asked about her future dreams, Ms. Binh hopes to have good health to continue pursuing her passion for painting. Besides, she wants to help other disabled people more by donating wheelchairs to them.

The gifts from Love Station will partly share the economic burden and give strength to this 8X female artist on her journey of spreading love.
