Cau River water level rises, Hop Thinh commune continues to evacuate and take care of people's lives

It is known that previously, to ensure people's safety, the People's Committee of Hop Thinh commune had developed a flood prevention and control plan, propagated and mobilized people to evacuate people and property to a safe place.

Since the afternoon of October 7, many households in villages at risk of flooding in Hop Thinh commune have proactively evacuated their properties and residences. On the night of October 7 and the morning of October 8, in addition to assisting people in evacuating by small boats, Hop Thinh commune mobilized militia and self-defense forces, and the commune police arranged motorboats to reinforce this work.

Accordingly, households have urgently completed the relocation to relatives' houses in higher places to stay. Up to this point, the commune has prioritized moving about 100 elderly people, children, pregnant women, and people with disabilities to Hop Thinh Commune Kindergarten for temporary residence. This work is continuing to be implemented to ensure the safety of the people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of Hop Thinh Commune People's Committee, said that in the area where people temporarily reside, the commune provides necessities, arranges kindergarten teachers to cook, and arranges places for people to eat and sleep. For households in flooded areas, the commune promotes the need to reserve food for a week. The locality arranges forces to be on duty 24/24 hours, regularly collects information, and ensures the supply of food for people, so that no case of food shortage occurs.
