According to Axios, in a post on Truth Social on June 15, President Trump said that Israel and Iran will soon achieve peace .
"Iran and Israel should make a deal and will make a deal soon. We will have peace between Israel and Iran very soon! Many meetings and calls are taking place regarding the situation in the Middle East," Trump wrote.
However, an Israeli official said Tel Aviv is not interested in a ceasefire at the moment because it has not yet achieved all of its goals - especially the goal of destroying Iran's nuclear program.
Meanwhile, a senior Iranian source told NBC News in Tehran that Israel has asked Iran, through Western intermediaries, to stop the attacks and return to nuclear talks.
The conflict between Israel and Iran erupted on June 13 when Tel Aviv launched a preemptive strike on a series of targets in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Tehran immediately responded to Tel Aviv.
At least 150 people have been killed and hundreds more injured since the conflict between the two countries erupted, according to state media reports.
