Pa Cuong changes the new countryside - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

Tin Pat road has been concreted and cleaned thanks to land donated by local people, making it easier for people to travel.

Pa Cuong village, Cao Lau commune has 62 households with 317 people, this is the smallest village in the commune, people's lives mainly depend on agricultural and forestry production. However, recently, realizing the significance of building a new rural area, people in the village have actively contributed money and working days to implement the criteria in building a new rural area.

Mr. Vy Van Hung, Party cell secretary and head of Pa Cuong village, shared: To mobilize people's strength in building the new rural area, the village Party cell assigned party members, mass organizations and prestigious people to propagate and mobilize people to participate in donating land, contributing money and working days to implement the criteria. Accordingly, we carried out propaganda at village meetings, through the village's zalo group and through the loudspeaker system. For some households that did not understand clearly, we went to each house to propagate and mobilize.

Typical examples include the implementation of traffic criteria and cultural facilities. In 2024, through propaganda and mobilization, villagers agreed to contribute over 60 million VND in cash, donate nearly 3,000 m2 of land, and contribute 700 working days to build rural roads (Tin Pat and Po Cam routes) and build the village's sports field. Thanks to that, up to now, 100% of the village's main roads and alleys have been concreted.

Mr. Hoang Van Hung, Pa Cuong village said: In 2024, when the commune had a policy to concrete Tin Pat road, my family agreed to donate more than 1,400 m2 of forest land to open the road. In addition, my family also contributed money and working days to build the road and sports field, along with the contributions of households in the village, up to now, the road has been concreted widely, creating convenience for people to travel, especially transporting goods and agricultural products.

Regarding environmental criteria, the village has actively promoted to the people, and at the same time "went to every alley, knocked on every door" to instruct households on environmental protection; waste classification... Thanks to that, up to now, 100% of households in the village have classified and collected waste according to regulations; livestock households have built waste tanks and lids to ensure hygiene; village roads and alleys are green, clean, and beautiful...

In addition to contributing to the implementation of the above criteria, other criteria in building new rural areas such as culture; income; production organization... have also been made efforts by the villagers. Accordingly, to increase income, in recent years, people have focused on effectively developing the forest planting model (mainly pine and anise trees) with an area of nearly 300 hectares. In particular, many households have had a good income from the forest, thanks to which, the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved. Up to now, the average income per capita of the villagers has reached 45.6 million VND/person/year, an increase of 6 million VND compared to 2023; the whole village has only 3 poor households, a decrease of 4 households compared to 2023.

Mr. Hoang Van Dieu, Chairman of Cao Lau Commune People's Committee, said: During the process of building a new rural area, the people of Pa Cuong village have tried and made efforts to implement the criteria, contributing significantly to helping the commune achieve the new rural standards in 2024. This is a typical village of the commune in mobilizing people to implement the criteria for building a new rural area. In particular, Pa Cuong village has done a very good job of environmental sanitation, so in 2025, the commune has chosen Pa Cuong village to build a model new rural residential area.

Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025 until now, Pa Cuong village continues to propagate and mobilize people to maintain the criteria for building new rural areas; mobilize people to clean village roads, alleys, and dredge sewers every 2 months. In particular, to build a model residential area, the village is currently propagating and mobilizing people to contribute funds to plant flower and ornamental trees along the road to the village with a length of more than 1km to create a green, clean and beautiful landscape for the village; mobilize households to equip family medical kits, renovate houses, upgrade toilets, livestock barns, etc.

With many efforts, the appearance of Pa Cuong village is increasingly improving, the traffic infrastructure and cultural facilities are increasingly improved, and the people's lives have changed significantly. In February 2025, Pa Cuong village was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement " Lang Son and the whole country join hands to build new rural areas" in 2024.
