Paddy “The Buddy” Pimblett made waves in the UFC once again when he challenged Ilia Topuria. |
The 30-year-old British UFC fighter has vowed to “break his face” and “knock him out in spectacular fashion” in their highly anticipated clash at UFC 317 in Las Vegas.
Pimblett and Topuria have never met in the Octagon, but their feud has lasted for years. “Honestly, I believe I could beat him anywhere, no matter how the fight goes,” Pimblett said in an interview with James Sweetnam. “People are hyping him up, but I’m going to bring him back down to earth.”
He added: "Miami is now my favorite place to play."
Pimblett’s declaration of war not only heated up the UFC atmosphere, but also reignited a long-standing war of words between the two fighters. Topuria, nicknamed “El Matador”, is the brightest face of the Spanish UFC, while Pimblett, with his brash style and fiery personality, has become a symbol of the new wave of British fighters.
Amid the threats, Pimblett still did not forget to send a message to young people: “Don't care too much about social media. It's not real life. Don't let a few idiots on the internet bother you.”
Off the field, Pimblett recently revealed he’s working on a film with Zac Efron and had a fun time tuna fishing in Monaco. But now, all eyes are on UFC 317, where he promises to make his “Topuria-shattering” claim a reality.
Las Vegas awaits, and UFC 317 could be the night that determines the winner and loser in an epic feud.
