BTO-On the afternoon of June 10, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung chaired a meeting to listen to reports on the socio -economic situation, national defense and security in the first 6 months of the year and key tasks and solutions for the second half of 2024. Also attending were representatives of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches, associations and unions... Delegates from districts, towns and cities attended the meeting at the local online meeting room.
The meeting heard representatives of the Department of Planning and Investment summarize the socio-economic situation, national defense and security in the first 6 months of the year and key tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2024. It is known that the growth rate of gross domestic product (GRDP) in the first half of this year in Binh Thuan is estimated to increase by 7.1% over the same period last year. Industrial production value increased by about 9.61%, total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 16%, export turnover increased by 4.78%. Agricultural production in the province remains stable, while tourism activities continue to be vibrant, demonstrated by a growth rate of more than 5% in the number of visitors and 4.3% in revenue over the same period in 2023.
At the same time, the work of taking care of people's health and the quality of education and training continued to be maintained, administrative reform was focused on from the beginning of the year according to the province's theme. At the same time, the work of national defense and security was also focused on strengthening, political security and social order and safety in Binh Thuan were basically maintained.
However, in addition to the achieved results, the local socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2024 still has some difficulties and limitations. For example, the number of newly established enterprises decreased and the number of dissolved or temporarily suspended enterprises increased compared to the same period, the budget revenue exceeded the estimate by more than 50%, but this is the lowest revenue in recent years. In addition, the work of site clearance and disbursement of public investment capital is slower than required, the determination of specific land prices is still difficult, affecting the results of land use fee collection...
Therefore, in the coming time, the locality will strengthen direction and urge to accelerate the progress of task implementation according to the resolutions of the Government, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council and the decisions of the Provincial People's Committee assigning departments, branches and localities to implement the plan for socio-economic development, national defense - security, public investment, and state budget estimates in 2024.
Continue to focus on effectively implementing tasks and solutions to promote socio-economic development, especially in the areas identified as economic pillars of Binh Thuan: Industry - tourism - agriculture... In the discussion chaired by the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang, representatives of many departments and localities also contributed opinions related to the socio-economic development situation, proposing solutions to remove some difficulties and obstacles in the past time...
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung acknowledged the positive results of the first half of 2024, but said that there would be many pressures and challenges in the final months of the year. He requested departments, branches and localities to review the targets, tasks and plans set out for the year to develop a roadmap, specific tasks, clearly assign responsibilities and resolutely implement them.
The leaders of the Provincial People's Committee also mentioned a number of solutions and required a high sense of responsibility to effectively implement administrative reforms, improve the investment and business environment, and enhance local competitiveness. Continue to coordinate in determining specific land prices, focus on compensation and site clearance, accelerate the progress of key projects and works, strive to exceed the set budget revenue target... Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, it is recommended that departments, branches and localities closely follow the direction of the province and actively respond to the emulation campaign in the second half of the year to aim for a disbursement rate of 95% of the capital plan for 2024.
Meanwhile, the education sector needs to make efforts to organize the upcoming high school graduation exam well, while the health sector continues to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment to serve the people, while localities pay attention to maintaining environmental hygiene and strengthening the management of mineral exploitation in the area...
