Fined 7 million VND for young man doing a "wheelie" on motorbike on Le Van Luong street

(HNMO) - On the evening of June 2, the Traffic Police Department ( Hanoi City Police) announced that it had issued a decision to administratively fine 7 million VND, along with an additional penalty of temporarily impounding the vehicle for 7 days and revoking the driver's license for 4 months for HPP (born in 2005; in Tu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi) for the act of "wheelie" on a motorbike, challenging the authorities.

Previously, on social networks, images of a young man riding a red SH motorbike "wheelie" on one wheel, challenging the authorities. Quickly taking action, Traffic Police Team No. 7, Traffic Police Department determined the time and location of the incident. Using professional measures, in less than 24 hours, Traffic Police Team No. 7 summoned HPP to the police station to clarify.

At the police station, HPP confessed that at 10:30 p.m. on June 1, while passing through Le Van Luong Street, Thanh Xuan District (Hanoi), he deliberately drove a motorbike with license plate 29X7-660.xx on one wheel to tease the authorities. After beingeducated , P wrote a self-criticism, promising not to repeat the offense. P said that he had dropped out of school to work as a shipper, and in a moment of losing control, he broke the law.

Based on the evidence, Traffic Police Team No. 7 decided to fine HPP 7 million VND for the violation of driving a vehicle with one wheel for a 2-wheeled vehicle according to Point C, Clause 8, Article 6 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP.

The Traffic Police Department said that all traffic violations such as weaving, weaving, wheelies, etc. will be strictly handled as a deterrent. Currently, the unit is coordinating with the Criminal Police Department, the Mobile Police Regiment and the police of districts, towns and cities to patrol and strictly handle young people who cause public disorder every night on the central streets of the capital and suburban areas.
