On the afternoon of April 4, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention ( Bac Lieu Provincial Police) issued a decision to administratively sanction Mr. Vo Minh Trung (born in 1990, residing in Ben Tre province) for using social networks to post false content, insulting the reputation of the Bac Lieu Prince's House Historical and Cultural Relic Site (Bac Lieu City).
The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Bac Lieu province worked with Mr. Trung.
Mr. Trung admitted all his wrongdoings. Based on the behavior and level of violation, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention in coordination with the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to impose an administrative fine of VND 7.5 million for the act of "using social networks to provide false information, slander, and insult the reputation of individuals and organizations" as prescribed in Point a, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree 15 dated February 3, 2020 of the Government stipulating administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions, amended and supplemented by Decree 14 dated January 27, 2022 of the Government. At the same time, Mr. Trung was required to remove all false information on social networks and write a commitment not to re-offend.
According to information posted on Bac Lieu Online Newspaper, on March 21, a nearly 2-minute video appeared on social networking sites recording a man claiming to be Minh Trung visiting the Bac Lieu Prince's House. Mr. Trung commented: Don't visit the Bac Lieu Prince's House, it's not interesting at all and the ticket price is 45,000 VND. Instead of going to the Bac Lieu Prince, you should go to the zoo, seeing animals will be more interesting...
