Pogba's statement caused a stir again. |
In an interview not long ago, Pogba shared: "I was very happy after receiving my first big salary at MU. I went to see my father and he said: 'Don't waste money. When the party is over, the guests will leave, and everything will be left behind'".
At the time, Pogba admitted that he did not fully understand the meaning of that advice. The player born in 1993 was at the peak of his fame - becoming the most expensive contract in the world in 2016, hailed as the number one star of the "Red Devils". The parties, new friends and the halo made him believe that life would always be like that.
However, over time, things changed. Pogba faced injuries, poor form, and recently a ban for violating doping regulations. When he fell into difficulty, he realized that the people around him were only there for “money and fame”.
“I only truly understood what my father said when things went wrong. Many people who were always by my side are no longer in contact. Now, only my family remains,” Pogba shared.
Pogba is currently training hard to prepare for his debut with AS Monaco. However, difficulties have beset the midfielder since he suffered an ankle injury during a training session on October 30. The former MU and Juventus star's debut has therefore been pushed back further.
