Previously, while fishing on the Nam Mo River, local people discovered an unexploded bomb exposed due to the shallow water level. The bomb was located about 30m from the river bank and about 200m from Tan Xa Bridge. The number of engineers determined that this was a MK-82 bomb dropped by the US army during the war, 30cm in diameter, 140cm long, weighing about 250kg and still had the detonator intact.
The engineering force defused the detonator, salvaged and transported the bomb to Bu Lon stream, Thach Duong village, Tuong Duong commune for destruction. The entire process was strictly carried out, ensuring absolute safety.
