Launch of painting competition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a Decision on organizing a contest to create propaganda posters to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).

The contest aims to promote the historical significance of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam - a major event in the history of the nation, marking the first leap forward in the democratic institution of Vietnam, opening a new period of development for the country.

Through the contest, the organizers want to affirm that the birth of the National Assembly is the result of the revolutionary struggle of our people under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, promote the achievements of the National Assembly of Vietnam over 80 years of formation and development; the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels in the country's renovation; affirm that the National Assembly always grasps and correctly applies the Party's policies, guidelines and viewpoints in legislative activities, supervision and decision on important issues of the country, the National Assembly's national policies always originate from the will and aspirations of the people, the interests of the nation and people, from the development requirements of the country, creating positive and strong changes in the socio-economic life, national defense, security, foreign affairs, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country.

Through the contest, it is affirmed that the National Assembly of all terms has continuously grown, innovated and improved its organization and working methods, enhanced the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Assembly, its agencies and the operational capacity of each National Assembly deputy in the common revolutionary cause to build and perfect the socialist rule-of-law State of Vietnam in the new period.

This is also an occasion to honor the merits and contributions of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels; affirm that generations of elected representatives always demonstrate and promote a good sense of responsibility, qualities, and intelligence, worthy of representing the will and aspirations of the people, together with the nation fighting for independence, freedom, unity, joining hands and unanimity to build and develop the country to become more and more glorious and happy; commend collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the activities of the National Assembly.

Accordingly, professional artists, non-professional artists, Vietnamese citizens and Vietnamese people residing abroad can submit works to the contest./.
