On the morning of May 29, the Provincial People's Committee held the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children in Lang Son province in 2025 with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children". Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Children's Support Fund Council; representatives of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, cities, enterprises and 250 children representing children in the whole province.

In recent years, the work of caring for,educating and protecting children in the province has achieved positive results; awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, families and society have been raised; children's rights, especially those of children in difficult circumstances, have been given attention. In the first 6 months of 2025, all levels and sectors have actively mobilized resources to build works and tasks for children in extremely difficult and border areas; supported children in difficult circumstances with a total value of over 2 billion VND; awarded over 2,000 gifts, scholarships and necessities to children through volunteer programs and activities. Over 2,800 children under 1 year old were vaccinated, reaching 96.2%; 100% of children under 6 years old were examined and treated with health insurance according to regulations; The whole province currently has nearly 66,000 children under 6 years old who have been granted health insurance cards in a timely manner, reaching a rate of 100%.

In addition to the achievements, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children in the province still faces many difficulties and limitations. Currently, the province still has over 2,000 children in special circumstances; over 30,000 children at risk of falling into special circumstances (accounting for 16% of the total number of children in the province); nearly 1,500 children with severe and extremely severe disabilities; over 1,300 children orphaned by one parent; 160 children orphaned by both parents; over 700 children living in families with social problems; over 300 children living in families with members suffering from social evils. In the first 6 months of 2025, there were 3 cases of children dying from drowning in the province; 9 children were subjected to violence and abuse. Facilities, equipment, swimming pools, playgrounds and entertainment areas for children are still lacking; Children's playgrounds and cultural houses do not meet requirements, especially during summer vacation.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Children's Fund Council, expressed his gratitude to organizations and individuals who have been accompanying the province in the work of caring for and protecting children. He hopes to continue to receive support and action with specific and practical actions so that every child can live in love, study, play and develop healthily.

He requested that all levels, sectors, schools, families and the whole society seriously and fully implement the 25 rights of children as stipulated in the Law on Children; comply with the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Relevant agencies should integrate goals for children into socio -economic development programs and plans; ensure that children live in a safe and healthy environment; continue to disseminate and thoroughly understand the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws on child protection and care; strengthen moral and lifestyle education for children in families and schools; pay attention to medical examination and treatment, and periodic health check-ups for children; organize cultural, artistic, sports and safe and healthy recreational activities; strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of policies and laws on children.

He requested that agencies, departments and sectors pay attention to arranging and mobilizing social resources to care for and support children in special circumstances, children with disabilities, and children from ethnic minority areas; create conditions for children to participate in social activities, express their opinions and wishes on issues related to children; enhance prevention skills and minimize risks of harm to children...

At the launching ceremony, agencies, units, businesses and individuals supported the Provincial Children's Support Fund with a total amount of over 352 million VND.
