Researchers have found that eating 80% of your daily food intake between morning and 1pm can improve blood sugar fluctuations and reduce hyperglycemia, according to the Daily Mail.

A research team led by scientists from the Grossman School of Medicine at New York University (USA) recruited 10 obese people with high blood sugar to participate in the study.

Eating 80% of your daily food intake before 1pm can improve blood sugar fluctuations and reduce the risk of high blood sugar episodes.

Participants were fed in two ways:

1. Eat 80% of your daily food intake before 13:00.

2. Eat a normal diet, with meals spread out from morning to evening.

Throughout the study, participants were given enough calories to maintain their weight and wore blood sugar monitors.

The results found that eating 80% of the day's food before 1pm can improve blood sugar fluctuations and reduce the risk of high blood sugar than eating normally.

After just one week of eating this way, participants were able to reduce the amount of time their blood sugar levels spiked, said study leader Dr Jose Aleman, an endocrinologist, according to the Daily Mail.

New way of eating is very effective for people with prediabetes

Lead author Dr Joanne Bruno said: This study found that eating 80% of your daily food intake within the first 6-8 hours of the day can improve blood sugar fluctuations, reduce the duration of high blood sugar levels and potentially prevent weight gain.

This way of eating is especially effective for people with prediabetes - who are 15 times more likely to develop diabetes.

This is a condition in which blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes and is often accompanied by being overweight or obese.

This particular eating pattern could be an effective strategy for diabetes prevention. It prevents people with prediabetes and obesity from progressing to diabetes, Dr. Bruno emphasized.
