
In his opening remarks at the training course, Mr. Le Thanh Hoa, Deputy Head of the Department of Ethnic Culture Affairs (Vietnam Ethnic Culture Bureau), stated that the training course aimed to raise awareness among the people about the harmful effects and consequences of child marriage and consanguineous marriage, contributing to reducing early marriage and forced marriage in ethnic minority areas.
Over two days, October 28-29, trainees from ethnic minority communities, including artisans, village elders, hamlet leaders, and influential community members, were equipped with important content such as: the current situation, causes, harmful effects, and consequences of child marriage and consanguineous marriage; the Party and State's policies and guidelines on ethnic affairs, gender equality, and building cultured families; and also learned about the current situation of early marriage and forced marriage among the Ma, M'nong, and Mong ethnic groups in Quang Khe and Ta Dung communes ( Lam Dong province).

Through this training course, cultural officials at the commune level have enhanced their awareness and responsibility in disseminating information about the harmful effects and consequences of child marriage and consanguineous marriage. They have also gained the knowledge to advise local Party committees and authorities on developing appropriate solutions to help reduce the rate of child marriage and consanguineous marriage in high-risk areas of Lam Dong province.
