
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Mr. Le Thanh Hoa, Deputy Head of the Department of Ethnic Culture Affairs (Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups) said that the training course aims to propagate and raise people's awareness of the harmful effects and consequences of early marriage and incestuous marriage, contributing to limiting early marriage and forced marriage in ethnic minority areas.
During the two days of October 28-29, the trainees, who are ethnic minorities, including artisans, village elders, village chiefs and prestigious people in the community, were equipped with many important contents such as: the current situation, causes, harms and consequences of early marriage, consanguineous marriage; policies of the Party and State on ethnic affairs, gender equality, building cultural families; at the same time, they learned about the current situation of early marriage and forced marriage among the Ma, M'nong, and Mong ethnic groups in Quang Khe and Ta Dung communes ( Lam Dong ).

Through the training course, the team of cultural officials and civil servants at the commune level has raised awareness and responsibility in propaganda and dissemination of the harmful effects and consequences of early marriage and consanguineous marriage. At the same time, they have been trained in knowledge to advise local Party committees and authorities on developing appropriate solutions, contributing to reducing the rate of early marriage and consanguineous marriage in high-risk areas in Lam Dong province.
