Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Council renamed 46 neighborhoods

On the morning of October 28, the People's Council of Phu Quoc special economic zone (An Giang province) announced that it had passed a resolution on renaming the neighborhood in Phu Quoc special economic zone.

Specifically, the People's Council of Phu Quoc special economic zone decided to change the names of 46 neighborhoods and keep the names of 5 neighborhoods in Phu Quoc special economic zone.

The Resolution was adopted on October 23, 2025 and took effect from the date of signing.

Accordingly, the neighborhoods numbered from 1 to 12 of the old Duong Dong ward will be renamed "Duong Dong Neighborhood 1", "Duong Dong Neighborhood 2"... to "Duong Dong Neighborhood 12".

The 8 neighborhoods with serial numbers of the old An Thoi ward were also renamed from "An Thoi Ward 1" to "An Thoi Ward 8".

Similarly, the neighborhoods of the former communes of Phu Quoc were also renamed by adding the old commune name. Specifically: Le Bat neighborhood (former Cua Can commune) will be renamed to “Le Bat Cua Can neighborhood”; Rach Ham neighborhood (former Ham Ninh commune) will be renamed to “Rach Ham Ham Ninh neighborhood…

5 neighborhoods retain their old names, including: Hon Thom, Hon Roi, Ganh Dau, Duong To and Bai Thom.
