Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Council renamed 46 neighborhoods

On the morning of October 28, the People's Council of Phu Quoc special economic zone (An Giang province) announced that it had passed a resolution on renaming the neighborhood in Phu Quoc special economic zone.

Specifically, the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone resolved to rename 46 neighborhoods and retain the original names of 5 neighborhoods within the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone.

The resolution was adopted on October 23, 2025, and takes effect from the date of signing.

Accordingly, the neighborhoods numbered from 1 to 12 in the old Duong Dong ward will be renamed "Neighborhood 1 Duong Dong", "Neighborhood 2 Duong Dong"... up to "Neighborhood 12 Duong Dong".

Eight neighborhoods, formerly numbered within An Thoi ward, have also been renamed from "Neighborhood 1 An Thoi" to "Neighborhood 8 An Thoi".

Similarly, neighborhoods in former communes of Phu Quoc are also being renamed by adding the name of the old commune. Specifically: Le Bat neighborhood (formerly Cua Can commune) will be renamed "Le Bat Cua Can neighborhood"; Rach Ham neighborhood (formerly Ham Ninh commune) will be renamed "Rach Ham Ham Ninh neighborhood"...

Five neighborhoods retained their old names: Hon Thom, Hon Roi, Ganh Dau, Duong To, and Bai Thom.
