According to Mr. Huy, the situation of unsafe, poor quality food and food of unknown origin is still complicated.

Accordingly, a fine of 25 million VND was imposed on the case of trading 200 candy packages of unknown origin. Temporarily seized 50 tons of frozen animal organs of unknown origin in Thu Duc City with 4.5 billion VND, fined 315 million VND and forced to destroy all. Nearly 7 tons of smuggled refined sugar were discovered in Cu Chi district. 18,200 bottles of smuggled beer were discovered in District 12.
In addition, through monitoring social networks, this unit discovered more than 1 ton of beef jerky of unknown origin being illegally traded. The City People's Committee issued a decision to impose a fine of 100 million VND and force the destruction of all violating goods.
During the peak period of inspection and handling, market management teams simultaneously launched inspections, in both traditional and e-commerce markets.
Typically, on the afternoon of May 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department inspected and discovered a business location at Binh Tay market selling dozens of boxes of refined bird's nest, 100g/box, worth nearly 60 million VND, of unknown origin.
In addition, a business location in District 8 was discovered selling more than 100 packages of various types of food powder of unknown origin, introduced and sold on an e-commerce website.
To increase deterrence, the Department of Industry and Trade found it necessary to publicize violations by individuals, establishments and the forms of handling on information pages. At the same time, increase sanctions or consider criminal prosecution for particularly serious violations.
For establishments that deliberately violate, do not have effective remedial measures or repeatedly violate, it is necessary to suspend operations for a longer period of time, or consider revoking their business licenses.
