Forever grateful
Carrying out activities towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), in recent days, all levels and sectors in Thu Dau Mot City have organized many activities of "Repaying gratitude". Accordingly, the city leaders have organized delegations to visit and present gifts to veteran revolutionaries, exemplary families of policy beneficiaries, soldiers who directly participated in the troops advancing to liberate Thu Dau Mot; and families in difficult circumstances in the city.
Specifically, from April 21 to 25, 11 delegations of city leaders visited and presented gifts to 37 typical policy families in wards across the city. At the places they visited, the city leaders expressed their deep gratitude for the great contributions of policy families and meritorious people. City leaders affirmed that the Party, State and people always remember the sacrifices and great contributions of war invalids and martyrs to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Receiving the leaders' attention and encouragement, the families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people were very excited, expressing their trust in the leadership and management of Party committees and authorities at all levels.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duong, former Company Commander, Head of the Liaison Committee of Phu Loi Battalion, currently living in Phu Hoa Ward, shared: “The day of Southern Liberation and National Reunification is a historic day of joy for the nation. This is not only an opportunity to review history, but we also received visits from the leaders of the province, city and ward, wishing us good health and giving us gifts of encouragement. I personally feel very excited. I hope that today's young people will always uphold tradition, fulfill their assigned tasks well, and contribute to building their homeland and country to become increasingly strong and developed.”
Promoting the tradition of friendship
Speaking to reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City said that on April 27, Thu Dau Mot City will organize the program "Thu Dau Mot's land affection". This is the first program organized by the city, with the participation of veteran revolutionaries, Heroes of the Armed Forces and representatives of policy households, representatives of ethnic groups, religions, laborers, businesses, armed forces, cadres, civil servants, and public employees... typical in the area. They are the ones who have made many contributions to the liberation of Thu Dau Mot; actively contributed to the development of Thu Dau Mot in recent times.
Mr. Tran Bao Lam, Vice Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee, said that the program is not only an event to review the glorious revolutionary tradition of the nation and homeland, but also to arouse patriotism, solidarity and responsibility for the homeland among all classes of people.
“The Party Committee, government and people of Thu Dau Mot City always remember and deeply express their gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution and exemplary families of the policy - they are the ones who have contributed their human and material resources to the revolution, actively contributing to the cause of national liberation. The leaders of Thu Dau Mot City hope that the tradition of affection that has been cultivated through many generations will always be continued and further promoted by the next generations in the coming time. With their affection and responsibility, the locality always cares about taking good care of the material and spiritual life of families of the policy and those who have contributed to building a rich, civilized and affectionate Thu Dau Mot,” said Mr. Tran Bao Lam.
Over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of Thu Dau Mot City have always paid attention to and helped policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services with many meaningful activities and programs. Every year, the city allocates a part of the budget and mobilizes more from socialized sources to take better care of Vietnamese heroic mothers, Armed Forces Heroes, policy families, and people with meritorious services to the revolution, through activities such as: Visiting, giving gifts, building and repairing houses, donating essential equipment, etc., especially on holidays, Tet, and War Invalids and Martyrs Day. These activities are not only the inheritance and promotion of the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude", but also the responsibility, so that people with meritorious services and policy families "have a standard of living equal to or better than the average standard of living of local people" as determined in the resolutions of the City Party Congresses in past terms. |
