Promoting the role of village cadres in new rural construction

Coming to Thien Duc village, Phuoc Ninh commune (Thuan Nam) in late April, we felt the bustling atmosphere of the people here. Each person had a job, some demolished fences, some leveled the ground, some poured concrete... thanks to that, 2 internal roads over 1km long were completed 1 month ahead of schedule. As a person directly involved in the construction of the road, Mr. Ba Lai, Thien Duc village shared: Due to the lack of roads, we farmers spent a lot of money and working days to transport materials and agricultural products. Faced with the above difficulties, the village officials met and discussed with us about the issue of donating land and supporting working days to build the road. Realizing the benefits, the villagers agreed to the above policy. My family alone donated more than 70m of land and participated in 10 working days. Not only participating in road construction, creating convenience in traffic, in recent years, people in the village have also joined hands to build models for maintaining security and order, reducing poverty, and developing the economy - society. Thanks to that, in 2023, the village was recognized as meeting the standards of a new-style rural village. Mr. Le Duc Loc, Secretary of the Party Cell of Thien Duc village shared: To create consensus and trust from the people, village cadres are always pioneers in participating in emulation movements in labor production and business; assigning and coordinating closely to remove bottlenecks together. At the same time, when there are new policies and tasks, we proactively solicit opinions, discuss and exchange with the people in the spirit of "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise and people benefit".

In order to promote the role of the people in building new rural areas, propaganda work is always carried out synchronously, in many diverse forms. The propaganda content not only focuses on the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; the role and responsibility of the people but also propagates good experiences and creative ways of other localities in implementing the construction of new rural villages, advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas... contributing to mobilizing internal resources, arousing the spirit of solidarity and consensus among the people. Along with that, they actively stick to the grassroots, close to the people, and listen to the people's thoughts and aspirations, grasp the issues arising from local practices, thereby synthesizing and advising departments, branches, Party committees and authorities to promptly consider and resolve satisfactorily. Strengthen inspection and supervision of task implementation to proactively adjust and develop specific plans suitable to local characteristics, ensuring that the new rural area is practical, effective and of high quality.

With the aim of improving the knowledge, management and operation capacity of village cadres, in recent years, departments, branches, sectors and organizations in the province have paid attention to training and coaching; creating forums for cadres and people to contribute ideas, exchange and learn experiences in the process of implementing new rural construction. For example, recently, at the conference to listen to people's opinions on participating in new rural construction of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province in Thuan Nam district, there were many opinions from village cadres participating in the exchange and proposing solutions in mobilizing people's strength in new rural construction; good models and practices in implementing new rural construction... These dedicated suggestions have been received, noted and selected for widespread replication by the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province in the coming time.

Currently, the whole province has 2 districts meeting the NTM standards; 32/47 communes meeting the NTM standards, of which 12 communes meet the advanced NTM standards; 82 villages meeting the NTM village standards, 7 villages meeting the model NTM village standards. NTM has contributed to creating positive changes in the social life of the people and the appearance of the countryside is increasingly spacious, civilized and modern. The above results show the prestige, capacity, new thinking, new ways of doing things and high sense of responsibility of the village cadres for the NTM construction in the province.
