Promoting the role of former teachers in the new era

Speaking here, People's Teacher Dr. Dang Huynh Mai - President of the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training for the 2020-2025 term emphasized that the Congress was held on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20 and the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Education sector. In particular, our country is entering a new era, the Education sector is undergoing strong changes and facing many opportunities and challenges.

During the last term, the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training has always paid attention to building the organization and developing the association, performing well its tasks and uniting the team of former teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training. Up to now, the Association has consolidated and developed 28 branches with more than 1,300 members, increasing by an average of 15 to 20 people each year.

The work of taking care of the spiritual and material life of members is guaranteed. The branches have encouraged and motivated members to participate in current events, read newspapers, watch TV, regularly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and the city's and residential area's regulations and rules to encourage members to implement them effectively.

The Association has participated in synthesizing ideas to build criteria on teachers' ethics; compiled a list and proposed to the Vietnam Association of Former Teachers, and recommended to the State to continue to care for the lives of teachers who contributed to the resistance war against the US to save the country; participated in meetings with teachers who went to B to show gratitude to teachers who have contributed to the country.

Local socio-political activities have also been promoted. Up to now, 28/28 branches have members participating as secretaries, deputy secretaries of party cells, group leaders, deputy group leaders or heads of front work committees. Members are enthusiastic and eager to participate in social work and socio-political activities in the locality; most branches actively participate in education and talent promotion activities in residential areas.

In general, the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training has effectively performed its functions and tasks. From the Association to the branches, everyone is united, taking care of and protecting the rights, spirit and material of its members. The Association has good relations with professional agencies at all levels and is supported by the authorities in terms of material and spiritual conditions. The association's cadres at all levels are dedicated, enthusiastic and responsible.

Continuously from 2020-2023, the Association was commended by the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers for its excellent performance. In 2024, on the occasion of the 4th term Congress, the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers and the Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training were awarded the emulation flag for the excellent unit in the 2019-2024 term. In 2025, the Association was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers for its excellent performance.

With the motto of "Solidarity, democracy, intelligence, creativity, setting an example, responsibility", the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training will continue to actively contribute intelligence, experience, and voice in agreement with the industry's policies, and propagate and explain to society the Party's policies and the State's policies on education to create social consensus in fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training.

At the Congress, People's Teacher Dr. Dang Huynh Mai continued to be elected as President of the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training for the 2025-2030 term.
