Promoting the role of youth in ensuring social security

Binh Thuy ward delegation and sponsors visited and gave gifts to Tran Thanh Giang in area 13, Binh Thuy ward.

The model "Accompanying you" of Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union aims at the goal of "Not letting any student drop out of school due to difficult circumstances". Tran Thanh Giang, a 9th grade student at An Thoi Secondary School, shared: "The Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union mobilized benefactors to support me with 300,000 VND/month until the end of the 2025-2026 school year. Thanks to that, I have the conditions to buy school supplies, uniforms and cover expenses during the school year. The care and help of the Youth Union members and benefactors help me have more confidence and determination to overcome difficult circumstances and confidently go to school".

According to Mr. Tran Phu Quy, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union, since 2023, the Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union has established the model "Accompanying You" to support students in difficult circumstances. Up to now, the Ward Youth Union has mobilized philanthropists to support 2 students in the ward. Every month, the Ward Youth Union and philanthropists visit and support each student with 300,000 VND.

On the occasion of the recent Mid-Autumn Festival, the Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union coordinated with the Youth Union of the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology to organize a Mid-Autumn Festival gift-giving program for disadvantaged students in the ward. At the program, 150 children enjoyed performances, participated in quizzes with prizes and received gifts. The total amount of the program was about 22 million VND. According to Mr. Tran Phu Quy, on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, the Ward Youth Union coordinated to mobilize and give 455 gifts, 1,000 lanterns and soft drinks, moon cakes... with an amount of over 120 million VND, to children in difficult circumstances...

Promoting the spirit of youth volunteerism, in recent times, the Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union has mobilized young people to actively participate in environmental protection and building a civilized urban area. Specifically, in September 2025, the Ward Youth Union coordinated with the Party Cell, People's Committee, and the Front Work Committee of Region 12 to collect waste on the following routes: Vo Van Kiet, Nguyen De, Pham Ngoc Hung and alley 135, Dong Van Cong street.

Mai Phuoc Huong, a member of the Youth Union of Region 12, said: “At the locations, the Youth Union forces and local officials collect garbage, remove illegal advertisements and encourage people not to buy and sell on the roadside. Thereby, gradually raising people's awareness in keeping the environment clean and beautiful.”

“In the future, Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union will continue to carry out many volunteer activities for community life; including coordinating with the locality to mobilize young union members and people to do a good job in social security, restore urban order and discipline, clean the environment, and remove illegal advertisements on some streets in the ward…” - Mr. Tran Phu Quy, Deputy Secretary of Binh Thuy Ward Youth Union, said.
