In recent years, Vinh Phuc tourism has had an impressive recovery, playing an important role in the socio -economic development of the province. In order for tourism to develop comprehensively, quickly and sustainably, it requires the tourism industry and the business community to truly innovate their thinking, approach and way of doing things.

Overcoming the stagnation period due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, after the Government allowed tourism to reopen, the State management of tourism in the province has had regular and close coordination between levels, sectors, localities, and enterprises and achieved high efficiency.
Tourism promotion and advertising activities have many innovations and are diverse, while effectively applying digital platforms and social networks, with close connections and coordination with localities across the country.
Along with that, the technical infrastructure serving tourism is increasingly invested, basically meeting the needs of tourism in the province. The whole province currently has over 560 tourist accommodation establishments with nearly 10 thousand rooms; in particular, there are 4 5-star hotels; 2 4-star hotels; 9 3-star hotels... Thanks to that, tourism has improved a lot, attracting tourists and investors to Vinh Phuc.
In 2023, the number of searches for Vinh Phuc tourism increased by 297% compared to the same period in 2022. During the year, the whole province welcomed more than 9 million visitors for sightseeing and relaxation, an increase of 13%, total tourism revenue is estimated at more than 3.6 trillion VND, an increase of 10% compared to the same period in 2022. Room occupancy rate reached 40% - 45%.
Besides the achieved results, Vinh Phuc tourism still has many shortcomings and inadequacies, the quality of products and services is still limited, there are not many high-quality products and services, especially 4-5 star accommodation facilities, lack of entertainment and shopping services; souvenirs and gifts are still monotonous, not bearing the characteristics and unique marks of the province...
The management and protection of heritage and tourism resources in some localities is still not strict. There are still many cases of illegal construction, arbitrary leveling and conversion of agricultural land to build tourism service facilities, affecting the landscape and tourism environment, which have not been promptly handled and prevented.
On the other hand, tourism activities are still seasonal, so they have not attracted high-quality workers. Some tourism service businesses have not paid attention to training and improving the professional qualifications of managers and workers.
Currently, Vietnam tourism as well as Vinh Phuc tourism are facing many difficulties and challenges due to the trend of globalization and deep international integration; the world's tourism demand is changing and regional and international competition is increasingly fierce...
This requires the tourism industry and the business community to truly innovate their thinking, approach and way of doing things. This is also the issue raised in Directive No. 08 of the Prime Minister on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development in the coming time.
The Prime Minister requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities, according to their assigned authority and tasks, to strengthen State management of tourism in their localities, implement solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, and promote comprehensive, rapid, and sustainable tourism development.
In particular, focusing on key tasks such as creating a favorable business environment, encouraging innovation, creative startups, developing business forces, forming many tourism businesses with strong brands; preserving and promoting unique indigenous cultural values, unique natural landscapes for sustainable tourism development; promoting regional linkages, linkages between localities to form growth drivers according to the motto "one route - many destinations", forming specific tourism product chains of each locality...
Implementing Directive 08 of the Prime Minister, recently, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document requesting heads of agencies, units, Chairmen of People's Committees of districts and cities to organize propaganda, dissemination, and thorough understanding to civil servants, public employees, and workers at agencies, units, and localities of the content of Directive No. 08 in appropriate forms, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.
At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to research, draft and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and unification to issue a document of the Provincial People's Committee to direct, specify the content, and implement Directive No. 08 of the Prime Minister in Vinh Phuc to soon complete the goal by 2030, developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the province.
