Developing the Industrial Internet to make breakthroughs and create new values for the economy and society

On the morning of July 22 in Hanoi, Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) - Ministry of Science and Technology organized VNNIC Internet Conference 2025 with the theme "Breakthrough era with industrial Internet".

Taking place from July 22-25, 2025, the event gathered more than 400 leaders, CEOs and leading experts from home and abroad, affirming the central role of the Industrial Internet in the digital transformation and modernization of the country.

Since 2022, the annual event series "VNNIC Internet Conference" organized by VNNIC has become a large technology forum with high professional quality, connecting domestic and international experts in Internet technology and engineering.

In 2025, the conference continued to affirm its prestige with the era-defining theme of Industrial Internet - the core foundation for innovation in growth models and development of national digital infrastructure.

Speaking at the plenary session, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang - Deputy Director of VNNIC emphasized that Vietnam is in an important transition of digital infrastructure, from traditional connection platforms to connection of all things: devices, sensors, connection systems, smart manufacturing.

According to Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, developing the industrial Internet and IoT is an opportunity to break through, create new values, new spaces, and bring new values to the economy and society.

Vietnam has also taken many steps to prepare for Internet development, such as the national digital transformation strategy, the digital infrastructure development strategy, the land fiber optic cable development strategy, and most importantly, Resolution 57 of the Politburo has oriented and guided to set goals for Vietnam's development associated with the pillars of Science and Technology - Innovation - Digital Transformation, which are the policy pillars for the development of the industrial Internet in the coming time.

The Industrial Internet is not only a trend, but also a core foundation for growth model innovation, production modernization, smart urban development, smart transportation, smart healthcare, etc.

This requires the Internet to be bigger - faster - smarter - safer, closely linked between Network Infrastructure: IPv6, 5G, IX, Digital Resources... Services and data: Cloud, AI, IoT, Secure DNS, Management policies - open standards - international cooperation.

"We believe that a strong, open, and reliable Internet infrastructure is a prerequisite for developing an autonomous, innovative, and globally connected Vietnamese industrial Internet," said Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang.

This year's conference includes a variety of activities such as: Workshop for students with the theme "The role of youth in Internet governance and the development of the industrial Internet"; 2 technical workshops on DNS and IPv6 only, for government officials and businesses; 2 thematic sessions on developing new generation Internet infrastructure, IPv6 - the foundation for IoT and safe and reliable Internet operations in the era of the industrial Internet.

In particular, the plenary session on July 25 was an important highlight of the conference, with the participation of globally famous speakers: Professor Jun Murai - "Father of the Japanese Internet"; Mr. Bill Woodcock - Secretary General of Packet Clearing House; Mr. Sutrisno Xu - Director of Business Development for Southeast Asia, Pegatron Group.

The speakers shared their vision of a society connected to all things, cloud, data, Internet infrastructure, and strategies for the 5G revolution in the era of the industrial Internet.

The high-level discussion in the plenary session on the topic "Solutions for developing the industrial Internet, connecting science and technology - innovation - digital transformation" discussed solutions to promote the development of Vietnam's industrial Internet in an effective, practical and sustainable manner./.
