Promoting AI for teachers

Taking advantage of the summer break, many teachers proactively participated in training courses on the application of AI (artificial intelligence) in teaching. Through the training, teachers were guided on how to use modern "digital tools" and gained the necessary knowledge in the context of digital transformation in education.

Teachers hope that the education sector and educational institutions will organize more in-depth training courses so that the application of AI in teaching can be widely disseminated and implemented systematically.

Active learning

Since the beginning of summer 2025, FPT Polytechnic College's Dong Nai campus has organized nearly 10 training sessions on the application of AI in teaching. This is part of a series of "community AI training courses on applications in teaching" implemented by the school, attracting more than 700 teachers from across the province.

Le Thuan, Head of Training at FPT Polytechnic Dong Nai College, shared: “The teachers participating in the training showed a commendable spirit in learning AI. From being initially hesitant, many teachers proactively explored and experimented with AI tools and created content. The journey from ‘not using AI’ to mastering the technology through community AI training courses and its application in teaching demonstrates their readiness to innovate and keep up with the times.”

After attending her first AI application training session, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, a teacher at Le Quang Dinh Secondary School (Tam Hiep Ward), found it very interesting and beneficial, so she participated in two more training sessions.

Ms. Ha shared: "If I knew how to use AI, I would gain many benefits such as: searching for diverse learning resources; preparing lesson plans and creating lecture slides faster and more engagingly..."

In fact, many teachers have been independently exploring and applying AI to their teaching for many years now.

Ms. Bui Thi Canh, a teacher at Tan Phu Primary School (Binh Phuoc Ward), is one example. Although she hasn't directly participated in any AI application training courses, Ms. Canh has been self-learning online and has started applying AI in her teaching since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out.

Accordingly, Ms. Canh used the Suno app to compose songs about mathematical formulas, helping students memorize math formulas more effectively. These songs are often used in the warm-up and reinforcement parts of lessons. She also researched and used AI to create mind maps…

Ms. Bui Thi Canh shared: "If teachers know how to use AI, they will teach more creatively and save time on lesson planning. Therefore, I hope all teachers will participate in this learning, because if they don't learn, they will fall behind."

The proactive approach of teachers, coupled with support from training institutions, has created a strong wave in popularizing AI in Dong Nai's education sector, contributing to enhancing the digital skills of educators and preparing for a more effective era of digital teaching and learning.

We hope to organize more training courses on AI applications.

According to Phung Thi Thanh Tam, Vice Principal of Phuoc Thien High School (Nhon Trach commune), after learning about a free training course on AI application in teaching, she informed the school's teachers, and 38 people registered to participate (accounting for more than 50% of the school's teachers). This is a very encouraging sign, showing that teachers are very conscious and responsible in digital transformation activities.

Ms. Tam stated that, in addition to basic knowledge about AI, the school will coordinate training for all teachers to ensure the application of the technology is more systematic and effective.

Ms. Phung Thi Thanh Tam affirmed: "Besides in-person training sessions, teachers at the school are also encouraged to learn online, including through the 'Popular Education' digital platform, with the regulation that each teacher must study at least two topics per month."

Meanwhile, Ms. Dang Ngoc Tram, a chemistry teacher at Long Thanh High School (Long Thanh commune), said that although she wants to apply AI in teaching, she feels that the application of AI to chemistry "has not met her expectations." Ms. Tram believes that she needs to further develop her skills in writing prompts (commands).

Participating in the AI application training in teaching for the first time, Ms. Hoang Thi Mong Huyen, a teacher at Tan Mai 1 Primary School (Tam Hiep Ward), said: "This is a very good program; if it can be applied to teaching, students will definitely be more interested."

Ms. Huyen hopes that at the beginning of the school year, the school will organize these training courses for teachers, paying more attention to older teachers so that they can keep up with the times.

To meet the growing demand for AI education among teachers, universities and colleges in the area have been actively implementing training programs.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Rector of Lac Hong University, said that the university has been implementing many AI training programs for teachers in Dong Nai and neighboring provinces.

"If schools in the former Binh Phuoc area have a need, we are ready to cooperate in organizing and designing appropriate content and providing maximum support to enhance the digital skills of local teachers," Mr. Quynh affirmed.
