On the afternoon of December 15th, in Thanh Hoa, Vu Hong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, attended a meeting to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) and to summarize the activities of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the meeting, and together with the delegates, recalling the proud history of the Vietnamese National Assembly from its early days to the present, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh said that, over 15 terms of operation, under the absolute and comprehensive leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese National Assembly has made outstanding contributions to the process of building and developing the country.

Continuing the achievements of previous National Assembly terms, the 15th National Assembly term has demonstrated a spirit of innovation, courage, flexibility, responsiveness, and timely adaptation to the unpredictable changes in the world situation. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that this was a special term, with a workload many times greater than previous terms, and many completely new and unprecedented challenges. The National Assembly held 19 sessions (10 regular sessions, 9 extraordinary sessions), passed 150 laws and 49 normative resolutions, many of which were historic decisions, creating a solid legal foundation for economic recovery, institutional reform, and national development in the new period.

In the glorious 80-year journey of the National Assembly, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly respectfully acknowledged the significant contributions of generations of National Assembly deputies from Thanh Hoa province. In particular, the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term has affirmed its position as a strong, capable, intelligent, and experienced collective; always active, proactive, and creative in all activities, leaving many outstanding marks and making practical contributions to the overall success of the National Assembly and the development of the locality; while also playing the role of a "bridge," promptly reflecting the aspirations of voters and the people to the National Assembly.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation focus on three key tasks: Firstly , Expeditiously complete the delegation's program and activity plan. Continue to effectively implement tasks related to participating in lawmaking according to the 2026 Law and Ordinance Drafting Program and monitoring and survey activities according to the implementation plan of the 2026 Monitoring Program of the National Assembly and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

Secondly , we must maintain unity and closely coordinate with the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in personnel matters, contributing to ensuring that the delegates to the 16th National Assembly are truly outstanding individuals, meeting the necessary standards and worthy of representing the will and aspirations of the people.

Thirdly , based on the summary of the term, the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation will continue to accompany and share practical experience with the 16th National Assembly Delegation to promote its role as a "bridge," reflecting the aspirations of voters and people in the province to the National Assembly, the Government, and central agencies, and continue to make positive contributions to the overall activities of the 16th National Assembly, helping to enhance the role and image of the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

Accordingly, Deputy Head of the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation Mai Van Hai stated that, with a spirit of unity and striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation has successfully completed all tasks set out in the 15th National Assembly term.

In the process of drafting the Constitution and laws, the Delegation has closely and effectively coordinated with the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and relevant agencies and organizations in the province to organize public consultations.

The monitoring and surveying work was carried out seriously, with quality and effectiveness, including 17 monitoring topics and 7 surveys… At the sessions and meetings, delegates in the delegation asked 21 questions and made 597 speeches in the plenary session and in group discussions on many issues and fields to clarify the issues of concern to voters; and to create and propose policies and laws to build and develop the homeland and the country.

The delegation organized 145 meetings with voters, attracting over 29,000 participants; compiled 713 groups of petitions, of which 83.3% have been answered by relevant agencies. The work of receiving citizens and handling petitions was carried out seriously, with 1,057 petitions received; after classification, 496 eligible petitions were transferred to competent authorities for resolution; 300 response documents from competent agencies regarding the results of petition resolution were issued…

With a high sense of responsibility and a commitment to the voters and the people, during the 2021-2026 term, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation successfully completed its assigned tasks, continuing to affirm its role as a reliable bridge between the National Assembly and the voters and people in the province, actively contributing to the overall success of the 15th National Assembly.
