Attending the working session on Lai Chau province's side were also representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Home Affairs, Office of the Provincial People's Committee and related experts.

The working session focused on exchanging information about signing a cooperation agreement to implement a program to recruit seasonal workers in the seafood industry in Tongyeong city, South Gyeongsang province, South Korea.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tong Thanh Hai expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of K Star Edu Co., Ltd. to visit and work in Lai Chau. In order to continue creating job opportunities with high and stable income, suitable for the conditions and qualifications of Lai Chau province's workers, and at the same time expanding the labor export market to other localities of Korea. Based on the working content on March 24, 2025 and the Open Letter of Tongyeong City, Korea on the signing of the Cooperation Agreement on the dispatch of seasonal foreign workers between the two localities. Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Home Affairs to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs in proposing and implementing the process of signing the Cooperation Agreement. Up to now, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a written comment; The Provincial People's Committee is waiting for the written comment of the Ministry of Home Affairs to complete the draft report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee before signing.

In order to ensure the progress of providing seasonal labor for Tongyeong City in the second half of 2025, in parallel with waiting for the signing of the Agreement, Lai Chau Province has organized a review of the demand for seasonal work in Korea to create a ready labor source to supply to Tongyeong City after the Agreement between the two Parties is signed. Up to now, 24/38 communes and wards have sent registration lists, with a total of 212 registrants, of whom 82 have passports.

Immediately after receiving the written opinion from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Provincial People's Committee will report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to sign the Cooperation Agreement in accordance with the regulations of the Central Government and the Province on signing international agreements.

Therefore, he hopes that Lai Chau province will continue to urge and create the most favorable conditions to speed up the signing process; at the same time, he committed to ensuring the rights of Lai Chau province's workers when going to work in Korea...

At the meeting, representatives of relevant departments and branches of Lai Chau province and members of the working delegation also discussed and clarified some difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process; at the same time, discussed solutions to speed up the progress as soon as possible.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tong Thanh Hai re-emphasized Lai Chau province's desire to send workers to Korea to work with high and stable income, suitable to the conditions and qualifications of workers in the province. Therefore, he assigned the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs to advise on the issuance of necessary documents to urge and speed up the procedures according to regulations.
