The working session focused on exchanging information about signing a cooperation agreement to implement a program to recruit seasonal workers in the seafood industry in Tongyeong city, South Gyeongsang province, South Korea.

Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Home Affairs to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs in proposing and implementing the process of signing the Cooperation Agreement. In order to ensure the progress of providing seasonal labor for Tongyeong City in the second half of 2025, in parallel with waiting for the signing of the Agreement, Lai Chau Province has organized a review of the demand for seasonal work in Korea to create a ready labor source to supply to Tongyeong City after the Agreement between the two Parties is signed. Up to now, 24/38 communes and wards have sent registration lists, with a total of 212 registrants, of whom 82 have passports.
Immediately after receiving the written opinion from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Provincial People's Committee will report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to sign the Cooperation Agreement in accordance with the regulations of the Central Government and the Province on signing international agreements.

At the meeting, representatives of relevant departments and branches of Lai Chau province and members of the working delegation also discussed and clarified some difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process; at the same time, discussed solutions to speed up the progress as soon as possible.
Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tong Thanh Hai re-emphasized Lai Chau province's desire to send workers to Korea to work with high and stable income, suitable to the conditions and qualifications of workers in the province. Therefore, he assigned the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs to advise on the issuance of necessary documents to urge and speed up the procedures according to regulations.
