On the evening of November 19, at a meeting to review the progress of preparations for the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that this is a major foreign affairs and economic event of the Government in 2025, so Ho Chi Minh City must complete all assigned tasks within the deadline of November 20. The contents of reports sent to the Government, draft speeches of leaders, program scripts as well as documents serving management must be carefully reviewed to ensure accuracy, updates and consistency.
Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Le Truong Duy, Director of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC C4IR) said that the preparation process is being urgently implemented by the City and closely following the Government's directives. According to Mr. Duy, the City has proactively coordinated with ministries and branches to review the entire Forum program, complete the report on the preparation work and submit it to the Prime Minister for consideration. In addition to the draft speeches of the Government leaders, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the detailed contents of the program and each discussion session have been built relatively completely. The City is continuing to consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to ensure consistency in expertise, protocol, security and communication before finalizing the final version.
As planned, the Autumn Economic Forum 2025 will be chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, with the participation of leading domestic and international economic experts. This is a forum to discuss new growth models, policies for sustainable economic recovery and development, and propose mechanisms that can be applied immediately in practice. The Prime Minister also requested that the Forum create feasible recommendations, not just stopping at academic exchanges but also aiming at actions, solutions and commitments of ministries, branches and localities.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, also affirmed that all preparations for the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum have been carried out by the City with the spirit of urgency and the highest responsibility. Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc said that Ho Chi Minh City has mobilized the synchronous participation of departments and branches; regularly updated the progress, and immediately handled outstanding issues to ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
“We identify this as an important political task of the City in 2025. Ho Chi Minh City is committed to completing all reports, documents, logistics and closely coordinating with ministries and branches so that the Forum takes place successfully, safely, and at the national and international level,” the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized.

At the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son also assessed that Ho Chi Minh City has made many efforts in preparation, but there are still some contents that need to be completed faster, especially the parts related to reporting content, operating scenarios and coordination with central units. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the City to strengthen the assignment of focal points in charge of each content area to avoid overlap; at the same time, step up coordination with the Government Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to ensure smooth work handling.
Regarding the organization, the Deputy Prime Minister requested HCMC C4IR, the focal point of the City, to regularly update the situation and proactively propose adjustments when necessary. Technical plans, logistics, security, reception, online transmission lines and communication plans must be constantly checked to avoid last-minute errors.
Regarding the report submitted to the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister requested Ho Chi Minh City to clarify the proposals for urban economic development models, digital transformation, green transformation and innovation-based growth. The report must have updated data, specifically assess the current situation, point out difficulties and obstacles, and propose highly practical recommendations. This will be the basis for the Government to consider and direct at the Forum.
“Ho Chi Minh City must complete all preparations before November 20. This is not only a progress requirement but also the City’s responsibility for a national event of special importance,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister also requested relevant units to urgently review all tasks, thoroughly handle outstanding tasks and report immediately when difficulties arise. The Deputy Prime Minister also believes that with careful preparation and a high sense of responsibility, the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum will achieve its set goals, making practical contributions to the Government's socio-economic management in the coming period.
November 26 is the focus of the forum, with a plenary session and five strategic reports on green transformation, smart economy, megacity governance, manufacturing and global supply chains. The afternoon will see a dialogue between leaders of ministries, sectors and international experts; followed by a direct exchange between the Prime Minister and WEF Managing Director Stephan Mergenthaler.
