Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc chaired the 4th meeting of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region Coordination Council.

On the afternoon of December 18, in Hoa Binh city, comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Prime Minister chaired the 4th conference of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region Coordination Council (abbreviated as the Regional Coordination Council). Attending the conference were comrade Tran Hong Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport ; representatives of the leaders of the Ministries that are the standing agencies of the Regional Coordination Council, including: Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment; Agriculture and Rural Development; Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; leaders of the Provincial Party Committees and People's Committees of 14 provinces in the Region.

The 4th Conference of the Regional Coordination Council aims to assess the socio -economic development situation in 2024 of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, the implementation of the Council's activities in 2024 and the expected work program in 2025; the implementation of key investment projects in the region and discussions of ministries, branches and localities on common issues of the region.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Chairman of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region Coordination Council, said: This conference aims to re-evaluate the regional linkage planning proposed at the 3rd conference. The conference focuses on discussing solutions to promote the implementation of the planning and goals according to Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Orientations for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region to 2030, with a vision to 2045"; recommendations from localities for regional development and linkage.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized: The Northern midland and mountainous region is a poor region with the highest rate of poor and near-poor households in the country; the scale of the economy is small, the rate of communes meeting new rural standards is low. Therefore, the conference needs to propose solutions to promote the economy faster, accelerate and develop strongly, achieving the goals set out in Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Chairman of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region Coordination Council, delivered the opening speech at the conference.

Comrade Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee representing Hoa Binh province will discuss the topic: "Sustainable tourism development in harmony between economic growth and preserving cultural identity, green living environment of the region, developing regional infrastructure".
