Phu Cu: Nearly 20 thousand households participate in classifying and processing organic waste at home

Currently, Phu Cu district has nearly 20 thousand households participating in the model of classifying and treating organic waste at households, reaching 89% of the total number of households. In order to encourage households to participate in the model, the district supports households with funding from 150 thousand VND to 300 thousand VND/household to build organic waste treatment tanks, install covers for organic waste bins, and each family is supported with 2 packages of microbiological products/year to decompose organic waste.

According to the district's preliminary calculations, people's participation in treating organic waste has helped the entire district save 5-7 billion VND in household waste treatment costs each year, reducing the load on collection and burial sites for household waste, and reducing environmental pollution.
