Phu Dong Ninh Binh is granted conditional license to participate in V-League

On May 23, the Licensing Board held its third meeting in 2025 to decide on licensing clubs to participate in the V-League 2025 - 2026.

The meeting included VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu, Head of Licensing Board Pham Ngoc Vien, Head of Complaints Resolution Board Le Dang Tung and VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu.

At the meeting, the Licensing Board agreed to apply the exception policy approved by the VFF Executive Board for the criteria of "Grade B administrative personnel" (including two positions: goalkeeper coach and fitness coach).

This is to give clubs more time to select and send coaches to attend the course to meet the qualification requirements in the following licensed seasons.

For the 2025-2026 V-League season, VFF decided to grant licenses to 14 clubs that meet the criteria for class A and B, including Nam Dinh, Hanoi, The Cong - Viettel, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Cong An Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, B.Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Song Lam Nghe An, Quang Nam, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh and SHB Da Nang.

In the First Division, there are 3 teams licensed to participate in the V-League next season: Phu Dong Ninh Binh, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc and PVF-CAND.

The licensing board will continue to monitor and assign specialized departments to evaluate the process of completing the infrastructure criteria of the above clubs in the coming time.

According to the licensing regulations of AFC and VFF, no later than May 31, 2025, VFF will report to AFC the list of clubs licensed to participate in AFC club tournaments and V-League in the 2025-2026 season.

Currently in the First Division, Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club has already secured a place in the V-League next season. Meanwhile, the second-placed team, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc, has a big advantage to qualify for the playoff match for a place in the V-League, with the team ranked second to last in the V-League rankings this season.

The 2024 - 2025 First Division has only 3 rounds left. Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc is currently ranked second with 41 points, keeping a 7-point gap from the third-placed team PVF-CAND.
