Parents upset about transformer station being built on school grounds in Thanh Hoa

In recent days, many parents of Quy Loc Secondary School in Quy Loc town, Yen Dinh district (Thanh Hoa) have felt upset and uneasy when, right on the school campus, the construction unit sent excavators to dig foundations and erect columns to build a transformer station.

The construction unit has completed the column erection.

Speaking to the press, Mr. Pham Hong Duc, Principal of Quy Loc Secondary School, confirmed that the incident reported by parents was correct. The school has also sent a document to the local authorities for consideration.

Transformer station built on school campus

Previously, at the end of March 2025, Quy Loc Town People's Committee surveyed the location of the transformer station and chose it within the campus of Quy Loc Secondary School.
Realizing that placing a transformer station here is inappropriate and potentially dangerous for more than 600 students and teachers, the school has submitted a document to the People's Committee of Quy Loc town (Yen Dinh district) requesting not to place a transformer station at this location.

Afterwards, representatives of the People's Committee of Yen Dinh district, Quy Loc town, the construction unit and the school had a working session. At the meeting, the school also requested the departments to review the safety level when placing the transformer station on campus.

Mr. Pham Hong Duc added that while the agencies have not sent any documents or decisions regarding the construction of the above transformer station to the school, on April 2, the construction unit sent an excavator to destroy a section of the fence, dig the foundation, erect columns...

Immediately after that, we asked the construction unit to stop. However, the town leaders later came and continued the work. Up to now, the construction unit has completed the erection of the pole. The school will continue to send documents to the authorities regarding this issue.
