Tan Dong Hiep Ward, Di An City: Contributing to building a civilized urban area

In recent years, Tan Dong Hiep ward has shifted its economic structure towards industry, trade, services and urban agriculture. The ward currently has 3 industrial parks, 1 industrial production cluster and many business establishments, attracting many workers from other provinces to live and work. In addition to economic development, the locality also focuses on building and upgrading infrastructure and urban beautification. Notably, in addition to state investment resources, the ward has mobilized social resources to carry out urban beautification projects. Typically, the ward has mobilized contributions from local people to carry out the "Mural Road" project.

Mr. Thai Duong Quang, Vice Chairman of Tan Dong Hiep Ward People's Committee, said that with the determination to successfully implement the thematic resolution on urban development and beautification, implementing a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle, changing the appearance of the roads..., in 2024, the ward mobilized social resources to invest in Nguyen Thai Hoc Street (Dong Tac Quarter) to carry out the project "Mural Road" to beautify the living space, replacing the previous wall paintings of Maruichi Sun Steel Joint Stock Company with more meaningful images. The project "Mural Road" is a series of paintings with historical significance of the Party Committee of Di An City, the Party Committee of Tan Dong Hiep Ward; images recreating Uncle Ho's cultural space to respond to and spread the study and follow the moral example and style of Ho Chi Minh.

The "Mural Road" project is 552m long, 2.5m high, divided into 152 picture frames; each picture frame has an area of ​​5 - 8m2 divided into 3 blocks painted according to the following themes: Miniature block of the history of the Di An City Party Committee; block recreating Uncle Ho's cultural space; miniature block of the history of the Tan Dong Hiep Ward Party Committee and the neighborhoods. The project has a total cost of more than 792 million VND, 100% funded by socialized funding sources.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngang, Secretary of the Dong Tac Ward Party Cell, shared that the residents of the ward, especially the families living along both sides of Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, were very excited when the ward mobilized to build the "Mural Road". The murals contain many messages to help people better understand the history, culture and development achievements of the country and the locality. The ward will preserve them well, and at the same time, promote to the people to join hands to preserve and promote the significance of this project.

Continue to renovate and create a new look

Tan Dong Hiep Ward currently has 154 inner-city roads. Up to now, with various sources of capital, the ward has invested in asphalting and concrete on 121/154 roads, reaching a rate of 78.6%. The ward has also mobilized people to invest in lighting installation on 115/154 roads, reaching 74.7%.

Mr. Thai Duong Quang said that Tan Dong Hiep Ward People's Committee has established a Steering Committee to implement projects using urban beautification capital in 2025. Accordingly, the Steering Committee has inspected and reviewed all legal documents to implement the projects in accordance with regulations; coordinated with design consultants to conduct measurements and field surveys to prepare a report proposing investment policies to submit to Di An City People's Committee for approval. Recently, Di An City People's Committee has approved the list and capital plan to implement urban beautification projects in Tan Dong Hiep Ward in 2025.

According to the plan, in 2025, Tan Dong Hiep ward will have 6 traffic projects renovated with a total cost of 44.7 billion VND, 1 public lighting project with an estimated cost of 9 billion VND, 2 projects to build the Office of the Neighborhood Management Board with an estimated cost of 26 billion VND, 1 project to build and renovate parks with an estimated cost of 2.1 billion VND. In the coming time, when the roads are completed, it will help people travel conveniently, improve the existing road conditions, improve the living environment, and contribute to creating an increasingly spacious, clean, civilized and modern urban appearance.
